With 7 games to go there won't be too many changes. Everyone seems to be saying the same thing.-Everitt has had enough, Leo is still getting kicks but as a full back is at the end and LRT is a real problem. I want to see Schmidt and White in the side. In the long run Veszpremi, Faulks, Currie must be getting very close. Smith was OK. the poor bugger has had to play on the two top sides. I liked his mark though. I can see big changes next year.

I agree with this point. And you'd think we pretty much "settled" with the same group who have played for each other for over the past 15 rounds (well according to Roos). In saying that, who would know? Maybe a few changes here and there could have a positive impact. It could also shaken the senior players up, just to let them know that NO ONE is safe from the chopping block. So far, will little changes to the side, it creates complacency to the side knowing that they can still play senior footy without facing the chop. We need to motivate them and tell them they need to EARN their spots.

I'm all for massive changes this weekend. We're playing against a younger side and possibly against the past 3 #1 draft picks. I'd give Veszpremi, MOD, Currie and White a go.

I thought Nick was OK yesterday, with limited opportunities. But he looks like a fifteen year old out there.

I'd really like to know what has happened to Luke Ablett? Everything he touched turned to sh*t yesterday. His kicking has gone wrong. His confidence is shot.

And I know Kennelly is playing banged up, but did he look slow to anybody else? He used to be lightening.

agree on both
i've noticed this season, and i think a bit last season, ablett's shots at goal are abominable, when he used to be pretty good
now it seems to have infected the rest of his kicking
and kennelly, hate to say it, looks gone
just looks broken down, can't make a fast decision, body won't do what he wants it to
looked dreadful on occasions before he was hurt yesterday, same against collingwood

If you seriously think MOL or Leo will be dropped you have rocks in your head.

Some of the kids 'look' talented but they will be murdered if they play in those two key positions.

We are still in 4th place for god sake, settle down.

I don't know why anyone would think that the kids were going to get a go this year. Roos made it clear pre-season that wasn't on the radar and a longer-term rebuilding plan (as most other clubs do) just wasn't the way Sydney went about things. The fact remains that the only reason many of the youngsters you mention got to string a few games together this season is because of the unSydneylike run of injuries and suspensions.

Roos has stated repeatedly his isn't going to stick around for much longer and obviously he wants as much success out of this current group as possible. He seems unwilling to end his historic coaching days with a team in the bottom six (no matter how much young talent might be realized in the process). I feel sorry for our next coach, ie the poor bugger that has to deal with Roos' legacy of arrogance and ego.

Ablett has been shocking. I don't understand why he hasn't had a go in the reserves other than the Roos philosophy of maintaining a consistent team. He just hasn't worked through it. There's a half dozen players in the reserves that would be better IMO.

Most sensible comment of all so far :thumbsu:

Knee-jerk reactions in dropping established and quality players will only see us get spanked. Our younger boys arent quite up to it yet. You can argue until youre blue in the face that they need to be given an opportunity to prove themselves, but if we brought in a heap of younger guys you would most likely only see performances like those of Melbourne for the remainder of the year (one or two quarter efforts with not enough polish [yet] or intensity to finish off games).

We are still in 4th and a chance to have a decent crack at finals. Just a rough patch at the moment. Have faith.
