He has a property and business interests in Melbourne. We'd have him for the two years of his contract, and he'd be straight out the door. We'd be lucky to get 15 games out of him given his injuries.
he is 21 he doesn't know what he wants. He just doesn't want to be at GC where he justifiably thinks they screwed his rehab on his knee.
Worth a punt if you ask me - if he gets over his injury he would be one of the top 5 players in the game and theoretically in 2 years time, he has played 30 games of top flight footy suddenly he is worth more just pick 7.
high risk high reward.

Invested in Melbourne's businesses and property
If we burn pick 7 on JOM then I'm taking Lloyd straight to Graylands.

Are we allowed to subcontract Goldstein for the off-season?That's one problem with having a Victorian girlfriend living in Melbourne. Too snobby for WA.
This is the type of posts that angers me. No offense to you there but please think this through.Draft picks are a guess. If you don't take risks you get no where.
Get him into the club and midfield becomes the best ever.

You are basically trading pick 7 on a player that is potientially good what happens if he retires after 2 years with broken knees? Sounds like a typical trade of 1995-2006 of trading early picks on potiential risk that always fails us. I rather trade pick 7 on a proven player.
2 trades define freo in that 2002-7 conolly era. Trading picks 3 and 19 for des headland in 2002 and Trading 11, 27 and 45 for josh carr in 2004.
Both those trades meant trading for the moment and trading our future away.
You just dont hand over pick 3 for no reason, You extract maximum value and get as much fair compo for it.
Pick 3 for 7, 33 (Hamling), 71 and Mccarthy was a good trade for freo.
Trading pick 3 and 19 for des headland wasnt.

If gumbleton wasnt injury prone, he would of been a good player. Hell he might of joined freo as a free agent after 8-9 years at essendon with a fully fit body.Yeah it would seem odd for the Hawks to go so hard for him if they believed his body couldn't last.
It be so funny if the Bombers picked him up and he turned out to be gumbleton 2.0.

Carr walked out on us after 4 years and fled back to portJosh Carr trade was in a weak draft.
Headland had a double knee cap and our medical team lets down.
