Have you lost anything valuable or valuable to you and later found it in a bizarre place? Or just unexpectedly?

Example..
A wedding ring and engagement ring was lost in 1976, when they fell off her finger as she closed her garden gate. After a long and thorough search, she and her husband could only find the engagement ring. Eight years later, the couple moved out of the house, which is why it was even more amazing that 33 years after the ring was lost, Anthea received a call from her old neighbor who claimed to have found the ring. The neighbors discovered the ring buried in some weeds underneath a hedge that was shared by the two homes.
The discovery was such a pleasant surprise for the couple that Anthea and her husband immediately decided to renew their wedding vows in the next year.

A few years ago I lost my passport a couple of days before I went overseas. I looked for it frantically with no luck. I ended up having to go and apply for an emergency passport, which cost me a small fortune.

A couple of years later I picked up a book that I had been reading before I went overseas.

Inside was my passport. I had been using it as a bookmark.

Not me, but a mate.....

Mates old man lost a Penn game reel and rod overboard, miles offshore, back in the 70's.

The mate and I were fishing the same spot in the late 90's and he accidentally snagged the rod and reel and retrieved it.

It still had a massive snapper on the hook........:D:D:D

Nah that's BS but the rest is true.
Cleaned the reel up and he still uses it today.

Also passport related.

Had a big night out here in Moscow a few years back, went to a range of different places, clubs, bars etc. finished off the night at a mate's place, then shared a taxi home with some girls who we were hanging out with.

Couldn't find my passport the next day. Called all the bars, clubs I'd been to, called my friend, called the girls. Nothing.

Anyway, the process to renew it took about 10 months. had to file all sorts of police reports and what not.

The passport was about 2 weeks away from being ready when I get a call from my mate, and he says he's just pulled my passport out of his sock drawer... Huge wtf moment.

In Russia, you have to carry your passport around with you everywhere you go. So in stead of risking my new one, I started carrying my old one as no-one would be the wiser if I got checked. In a freak twist, about a week after getting the new one, I actually lost the old one again while on another bender!
