Peronally i reckon when Gary Ablett kicked the winning goal in the prelim in 94 after the siren. I was there and will never forget that. Shame about the GF result.

Actually can i have a close second, Nathan Abletts 1st quarter vs West Coast at KP. The boy had arrived, his dad was in the stands his brother playing well, Cats smashing the Eagles, i had the binoculars on his dad at times, truely a magic 30 minutes of football.

Ditto.

I was there and will just never forget the feeling.

Other notable mentions would be:

• The 1994 first final v Footscray when Billy kicked the goal after the siren (“THE MONKEY’S OFF THE BACK BILLY”);

• “That mark” – Ablett over Pert at the MCG against Collingwood. I was there right in front of it and I have a framed, signed photo of it on my wall at home; and

• Nathan Ablett’s first goal after a pass from his brother – Geelong v Melbourne, Round 21 2005. Again, I was there.

Number one would have to be Tudor on the boundary line just managing to float it over poor Micky Martyn's head.

Number two would have to be when Ablett marked and dobbed his ninth to put us within two goals of Hawthorn in 1989 - though his snap out of the throw in is one of the best goals you will ever see.

It would be nice to be able to add a GF to the list :(

Okay everyone has put the obvious ones (and of course they are right), so i'll try and come up with something different:

*1999, round one, against North. The best comeback game EVA, that i have had the pleasure to be at! To come back from 6-7 goals down, not once, not twice but three times (along with some classic Ronnie B magic) was awesome!

*The sight of Malcom Blight coaching Geelong to a win over West Coast in Perth, last round 93'. The fact that he was standing on a wooden table, just added to all the drama of it all! (2 bad Collingwood let us down a couple days later!)

*Riccos "touchy" goal after the final siren against Carlton. Yes I admit i didnt see it (we cracked it and went downstairs after Lappins last goal), but the right result was obtained in the end. 2 wrongs do make a right sometimes!

*And last but not least, Gazzas 14 goals against Essendon. Was the first game and first time at the MCG, and after seeing that, i was hooked!! :D

PS. Milburn/Silvagni.. do people actually remember that nothing was actually in it. It was a whole lot of sissy carlton supporters getting in a tizz over NOTHING. MIlburn didnt even get suspended!!!

PPS. Go Dasher 2morow night! :D

Christmas day 2003 when I watched the entire replay of the 1963 grand final win over Hawthorn.

Everything else has been foreplay.

How did you manage to get your hands on that grand final? I did not think it was recorded.

It would be good to see a Geelong Premiership!

what about the one in either 20002 or 2003 down at skilled when Benny Graham kicked a chip to scarlo in the square but it went over his head for a goal and we beat port by a point

Being at the G to see GA snr kick 14 Against Essendon. We ended up losing that game but I'll still never forget that day.

Billy Brownless "monkey off the back" goal after the siren effort. Against the Dogs

GA after the siren effort against the Roos in 94

Are you sure about that? I think I remember Milburn getting 3 weeks for that

Really?? Oh, well my bad if im wrong. I was at that game (and really thought Milburn was not going to make it out of Optus alive that day!) and thought there was nothing really in it.. i thought the bump was in play.. anyway who knows, it was a loooong time ago!

The Ablett mark against Collingwood, or Billy's kick after the siren in 94.
Also, there was a game against Essendon where Ablett kicked a massive bag, but so did Salmon (I think...this one is the haziest memory) and we lost.
I only pick those games because I was at them, and you can't beat the feeling of being at a game like that.

Ablett kicked 14 and Salmon 9...one of the best shootouts I've ever seen.

Actually Salmon bagged 10, AND went off early in the last. Seriously, how good is that.
No surprise Essendon went on to become premiers that year.

I'v probly only been to 30 games in my life (even thou I claim to be the number 1 fan) - as i live a fair way away from melb, however I have been lucky to see these games

1994 - Ablett's mark over Pert against Collingwood
1994 - Ablett's 200th game against Carlton

1996 - Round 1 - for the first time in a long time Geelong kicked off the season against Melbourne - Ablett kicked 9

1997 - Geelong v Freo - Ablett has a dissappointing day on O'Rielly but slots his third to bring up goal number 1000!!!

2001 - vs Essendon, Gaz Jr debut match playing on Mark Johnson (Jimmy B also debuted - too bad we lost by 10 goals)

2001 - the Milburn/Silvagni round 22 encounter at Optus Oval - in the rooms after was funny seeing how nervous Dasher was to leave the rooms - instead of wearing the custom GFC suit and tie, he opted for trackies and a hoodie jacket to try and escape unoticed ... it didn't work and his girlfriend (or a female friend) was waiting in the car ready to put the pedal down and drive off as soon as dasher got in ... and what was even funnier was seeing the Blues supporters running down the road after the car - it was almost the scene of a soccer riot!!!

2002 - Riccardi's magnificent effort after the siren!!! Sensational! - spoke to him in the rooms after and wanted to ask him for his shoelaces or some momento but i felt rude so i didn't ask (hey i was only 16 at the time)

2003 - vs Port -> King to Sanderson to Graham to ... Scarlo?? - no to goal and Geelong win by a point over the Power at KP - also Bomba Wojcinski almost took the mark of the yr on the outter wing climbing a mile over his opponent only to drop what look to be an easy mark after such a top effort to get up so high!

1997 - Geelong v Freo - Ablett has a dissappointing day on O'Rielly but slots his third to bring up goal number 1000!!!

I think you might find that was 96, as in 97 poor Gaz injured himself in a reserves game, round one.. neva to return to the game again. :(
