hey guys i'm just wondering. whats the deal with these bloody internet dating websites? they charge a fortune in $$$ and some of us don't have credit cards out there (and time for the pub scene). Well I wont lie. I was went to lavalife (guilty as charged:p ) a few weeks ago and so someone sent me one of them :) 's (smiles) which is all well and good and so I did the same but thats as far as it could go :(. i wouldn't want to spend $50+ just to give someone somthing as simple as an e-mail adress and I can tell they wouldn't niether.
well isn't there such thing as a free online dating website somewhere? I was wondering why people don't send IM's all the time. no wonder it a bloody ripoff
 
What is your opinion on these sites, mainly the people that go on them.

I live with someone who goes on them nonstop and keeps referring to himself as some type of sex god because he is getting ladies off the internet. Do these girls count?, as they are keen for it.

Also this said housemate does not use protecting when 'interacting' with these girls that he meets for the first time, does anyone else have an issue with this.

So what do you think of these sites such as OasisActive, adult match maker etc.

Pretty sure your house mate has an STD, or will have one very soon.

Wouldn't be bragging about it if i was in his shoes, paying to use multiple websites (as it sounds like in this case) in order to pick up is close to just heading to the brothel imo.
 
My bro signed up for one last yr or something. Only in it for a f*ck. Dont know how he went though, Parents were not happy as he was 17 or something.
 
IN AUSTRALIA the women on these sites are horrible...fat and ugly

i have lived overseas for sometime and the women on the internet are normal and good looking. it's a different story. GENERALLY speaking.

If he can go to trendy nightclubs each week and pull quality each time then i will take my comment back.

Dont have an issue with dating sites, im actually a member of 1 and for me its a bit of harmless fun, not all the girls are fat and ugly but they are generally the 1s who email you or write you msgs, if u want a root than that is your safest bet, if i ever decided to either date one of the girls from there i would arrange to meet them in a social setting with mates and drinks etc, make it look like shes a random chick and not someone i arranged to meet there from the net. You can at least get to know them properly in that environment.

Actually live in Adelaide, haven't changed my location.

I am liking the talk of him having an std, as I keep telling him he has one and its really getting to him. I am loving the sense of nervousness and panic he has about him.

Cant comment on the quality but my other housemate said he would rather use his hand....

Not going to lie sites like redhotpie sometimes have some quality but you have to think about the reasons behind chicks on sites like these... They have obviously gone through all there local people and want another range of people to play with.

Well I have no experience with these sites, but in my opinion all the quality girls would have to be fakes, your reason has merit also.

I just dont understand while a decent girl just wouldnt get on facebook and say she is hungry for some dick to someone she knows.
 
People need to get out more, feel sorry for some as they wont think they have the moves so they have to stoop to this level.. some might like it tho
 
Found out a friend's brother had an account on some dating site, so of course we tracked him down to check out his profile.

Under his "about me" he said that he was "financially secure, well travelled, likes wining and dining, and enjoys good people".
This guy is a 34 year old stoner who lives with his parents, and has never travelled out of WA.

Has now bagged himself a missus out of it though. A junkie looking thing with rotten teeth :thumbsu:
