As an OnLive fan I'm stoked with this announcement...

Google’s touting partnerships with big manufacturers like LG who’ll have the search giant’s Google TV 2.0 built into upcoming TVs. What this means is that with an OnLive membership and a Google TV-compatible display, you’ll be able to access the all the games in OnLive’s catalogue. That means Batman: Arkham City, NBA 2K12 and other big-budget games on your TV without an Xbox 360 or PS3.

Now if only they would hurry up and get an Oz server setup. :o

so is this the future of gaming then? I mean, not the near future, but say in 15 years time?

It's either going to be Digital Distribution or this I reckon.

....

Sooner than that... as soon as NBNs can support avg d/l speeds of around 3-5Mbps (PCs and TVs) and 1-2Mbps for tablets.

Which will be within 3-5 years.
