"There was no harm done."

"It was just a joke."

Seriously dude really?

That 'apology' was even more horrendous than the Daniel Kerr trainwreck on TFS.

Getting an absolute bake on ABC radio. Rogers called him out even though they might be teammates at Somerset this year.
Rogers is ripping into him.

"I'm sorry if she feels that way"

Is he trying to dig himself out of the hole?

He sounds like he's got a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock

Facebook comments are always cancer, but over on the cricket.com.au page they are doing their best on this article, all jumping to the defence of Gayle and actually calling Mel out.
Have you read BigFooty before? The attitudes of people on the internet should, sadly, be no surprise. As I'm sure they were not.

It was an inappropriate thing to do. Leave it at that ffs.

If one reads the newspaper's Facebook pages a clear 90% of people think this is way out of proportion, found it amusing and think it political correctness gone mad. It may have been a little inappropriate but gees, who cares. Gayle and Mel will sort it amongst themselves, as they should. The other moral outrage shit isn't necessary. Ch.10 and it's commentators found it amusing, it's twitter hashtagged "Smooth". Don't worry about Howie's"forced" statement, just doing what he was told by his employer after he s******ed in the background with the rest of them. We never had political correctness 30 years ago and the world was a much better place then.

Gayle interview was spot on, a bit of fun and and if he caused offence then he is sorry. That fact was Gayle was not going to publically apologise to appease the politically correct wowsers and insatiable media, he will do it in person where it should be kept.

Has Mel released a statement yet? I'm interested to see how she felt, not how everyone else feels.
Ten's Head of Sport David Barham said he immediately rang McLaughlin after the interview.

"She was angry and she was upset. She was doing her best to get an insightful interview about the cricket, that’s what her job is," Barham told 3AW.

"She was asking him legitimate questions about cricket and he turned it into talking about her eyes. She was a bit taken aback, embarrassed. I thought it was a bit demeaning.

"I talked to her for four or five minutes and she was pretty composed really and agreed we just have to get on with the game and that’s what she did. I thought she handled it brilliantly."
