The Jason McCartney interview was great, I thought; he was really candid, he's a very articulate bloke and his determination to come back and the way he went out in his final game was a story worth telling. Much better than a fair few others, such as Silvagni, Ricky Nixon and the like. Good on him.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the McCartney one too. Whilst it was great listening to the Bali stuff, the football side of the story was equally interesting. Such a modest, self-effacing bloke too.

Series has been a highlight for me this year from a footy show standpoint

Ha, you're right.

Don't think Voss ever released an autobiography, nor have I ever heard him talk a great deal about his career or coaching fallout in the media. I think the 2006 pub brawl was his only real off-field discretion, which means the interview is less predictable in what Mike will focus in on.

I find episodes are more interesting and engaging with more of the lesser known guests/ex-players. More stories you've never heard of.

Favorite episodes this year have been Justin Kozschitzke, Michael Voss and Alan Stoneham.

Worst episode of them all has undoubtedly been Silvagni's.
I have found the worst episode to be Des Tuddenham. Pig arrogant man.

Nixon was just sad. Nothing arrogant about him. Just pathetic.
You have been pretty scathing on Des, and to be honest I agree with you.

How much of it will be spent on talking about the 2000 Grand Final and premiership emotions?
I'd assume getting the flick from Essendon, sheedy, drinking piss, geelong heartbreak and 2thou will all get a mention.

The preview during League Teams had a fair bit about Gary Ablett.

Whenever I think of Barnesy, I think of him as a Cat. However, it's interesting how all these players almost always regard their final club as their favourite i.e. Salmon and the Hawks, Hall and the Dogs, Barnesy and the Bombers etc...

I used to love watching League Teams on the original Fox Footy with Huddo, Mike Sheahan, Russell Greene and Barnesy. You'd think that they'd be able to find something for him there now.....even it's on something rubbish like "Bounce" on Wednesday nights. I might even watch it then.

^ Yeah, I should have said that I was surprised that they favoured those clubs over the ones at which they played the majority of their footy.

I'm surprised that he was never asked back. I'm not sure what the norm is as footy clubs, but I would have thought that you'd single out one home game every year where you'd invite back past players like Couch, Bairstow, Riccardi, Bews, Ablett, Stoneham, Brownless, Hinkley, Barnes for some kind of re-union?

Had a bit of talent did Barnesy, what I loved most about him was that he never left you wondering, tried his guts out every game.

Barnesy is a pisser.Just funny how he drops in words like shit, pissed and so on.Clearly he played footy before players were turned into media robots with all the media training they get these days.

So who was the player Blight sacked when he threatened Barnesy with the same ?
