Ex carlton player Jake Edwards does a podcast called ‘Delisted’. His guest are former AFL listed players who played between 0 and 50 games and were delisted. Talks about getting drafted, their time on a AFL list and their return to ‘normal life’ after getting delisted.

After listening to a few episodes, I’ve realised, someone who may never played a game at senior AFL level would still have just as much interesting and funny stories as someone who played 200 games

Going to park myself on the couch tonight as on the show will be the last St Kilda captain to win a premiership, Luke Ball :p:thumbsu:

In all seriousness though hopefully they go over his whole career and not fixate solely on the 2009/10 era because Bally speaks as well as any player in recent years

I would have liked to know more about the ins and outs of the trade situation
But not bad, seems like a nice guy

Then again, you always come out of the episodes now thinking "what a nice guy" not "wow that was a fascinating interview"
Mike just asks the wrong questions

Guess you haven’t seen the mark Jackson episode then

Mike just asks the wrong questions

For someone who had been in the media for as long as Sheehan, he has an appalling lack of knowledge about his subject. I don't know who writes his questions but he needs to find someone with the skills to research the topic more thoroughly. His interview with Phil Carman lacked anything about his story and just focused on one aspect of his career, and all he tried to get out of Don Scott was some admission that he hated Leigh Matthews. He's so pathetic, I haven't watched any since then. Could you imagine if he tried to do Robert Muir before articles on his over the past few days? What a debacle that would have been.

Good point and these guys aren't institutionalised like guys who are in the AFL system for 10 plus years, and are better blokes generally as they have to go back to normal lives

Thought Mike eased up on his great mate stewy and didn't probe him too hard on some off field antics, which is probably why he agreed to go on

100% he is awful and doesn't ask the right questions. His Buckley interview from way back was terrible it was focussed on his coaching career and no good questions about playing. Just recently he interviewed Luke Ball and didn't probe him at all about how he got to pick 30 which was a massive thing at the time.

That was another ep that could have easily gone for an hour. That 30 mins flew by. He's not short of a tale.
Jesus.
Rendell sounded jurassic.
In terms of game, thoughts on the game and an inability to understand what footy requires now.
Seems an ok bloke. Didnt he get , if memory serves, lambasted for some perceived "racist" comments?
From vague memory, I dont think he was at all. Just a man caught out of time.
This interview kinda confirms that.

Huh? Did u mean pick 3?

On SM-G925I using BigFooty.com mobile app

He went at pick 30 to Collingwood, the second time round of asking, after a trade could not be negotiated, with every other club somehow mysteriously passing him up, before the Magpies first pick.

Yeah, that's what the disclaimer at the very end of the ep was about, where Mike said due a non-disclosure that Rendell had signed with the Crows at his departure, he couldn't talk about it.
Given how glowingly he spoke of the aboriginal boys at the Bears, it's hard to believe he would have made racist comments when at the Crows. But who knows.

Don’t think it was a mystery. Clubs didn’t want to draft a established high end player who didn’t want to go to them. Plus many probably couldn’t afford him.

Trumped up BS a total injustice, should never have been stood down

Have caught up on a good number of episodes over the years now. Would be an interesting exercise to see everyone's favorite episodes.
Personal favorites of mine:

- Tony Modra: Seems like such a ripper bloke. A humble fella who could play footy very well and just wanted to enjoy the game while giving fans something to watch. Didn't have one hint of ego to him along the way and despite a few major setbacks (the knee resulting in missing 97; dropped for 98 and then traded to the Dockers) seemed to have a very healthy outlook on his career.

- Dermott Brereton: I know Dermie can be...Dermie but I found this episode really interesting. Clearly and rightly hurt about the Hawthorn departure; the minutes leading up to the Tallis incident were eye opening and certainly had a very healthy belief in himself but equally very willing to credit opponents when they beat him fair and square.

- Warwick Capper: Might seem an odd choice BUT if you're willing to accept Wazz for what he is - an entertainer who is clearly very content with his own company and achievements - then he does tell a good yarn about his time at two clubs at very tenuous stages of their development.

- Graham Cornes: Very eloquent and thinks carefully about his answers - always an entertaining subject. The story of how he was able to coach Glenelg to a premiership while finding out in week 1 of finals that one of his star players was having an affair with his wife is just amazing for how he was able to put that aside for the betterment of the team.

The Jacko episode is one I've watched twice to see if I missed something the first time and it is just really ordinary. There is actually an interesting story in there but nobody will ever get him to be sensible enough for 30 minutes to tell it. That night was just a vendetta toward Sheehan and ended up being an odd carnival of nothing.
