So if Aish drops to pick 17 Freo should pass on him for a much needed KPP.

From what i've been gathering from the last few days (prior to which aish was the agreed upon pick 2) is that Aish could realistically be there around pick 40, has a body like ellis, lacks pace, is arrogant and softer than gibbs.

We don't need another 181cm midfielder we have enough in and under midfielders in Ball Adams and Beams. It's the area we need the least to worry about. I rate him as a footballer but we need decent running defenders who can use the ball well and those are the two I mentioned in the previous post.

Freeman is a receiver even if he has inside capability. You've got to visualise a midfielder around the ground anyway as that is the lion's share of the game, not simply the ball-up or throw-in.

The man has the energy and speed to get into space whereas to my eye Adams is much more your pure inside mid.

Its probably a conversation for another thread, but Freo's drafting has always confused me somewhat considering the lack of KPP depth on the list. Mason Shaw last year for instance seemed like a hand and glove fit, but you went with the Simpson lad instead.

Wouldn't have a clue what you are watching. Offensively, they are as pure link types as you get. They aren't pure inside, they are the ones who usually win the second spill and they aren't the line breakers receiving on the outside. They link the play. You talk like it's a bad thing, when it's pretty important to have them, especially as creative as they are.

It's not a bad thing, but its the least damaging midfield role.

Yep it is suited to a different thread so I'll be short in saying we have wasted a number of 1st round draft picks on skinny hbfs. Simpson may turn out ok but he showed very little this season.

Gotta love it when blokes who have seen 5 secs of a bloke play start making bold statements on how the bloke is a dud etc and cant do this and that.
Aish is the best mid in this draft. I have watched him closely at Norwood for the past 2 seasons and the kid is going to be a star.
In his 1st GF as a 16 year old he should have won the Jack Oatey medal for best on ground and last season he has a shoulder injury that disrupted his season but he still used the ball at a elite level, the highlights package was a load of shit. He is so much better then that.
If Aish slips to 6 and we land him i will celebrate more then when we read out Grundy and Kennedy's names and i bloody jumped all over the Marion car park when that happened.

How is Aish soft when he has played last 2 years against men in SANFL, winning 2 comps in the process.

So want this kid to slide to 6. Only possible issue is his slight frame but hopefully that will be fixed on an AFL list. Other than that, the kid has it all.

His old man was built like a jockeys whip too. Even at the end of his carrer.

Just curious why people aren't allowed to critique a player but it's OK to class the guy as a gun.

People are over-rating this guy based on the same so-called '5 seconds' you mentioned.

When guys are basing someone on a 3min "highlights package", positive or negative, and havent actually sat down and watched the kid play it really doesnt mean anything.
I can only base my thoughts on Aish on what ive seen and like i said, ive watched him for 2 seasons at Norwood, whole games and not a "highlights package".
Hence im not banging on about TAC Cup players cause i havent seen a lot, only the All Australian championships.

So we retire pick 6. Ok why not. With all the other quirky rules & exceptions the AFL has introduced into the draft (compensation picks, priority picks, zone picks, pre listed whatever's, coca cola), there is never going to be a fair & balanced draft & salary cap arrangement or level playing field.

was his best game probably of his last 6 or so games of the season without being influential. His shoulder injury set him back a fair bit but he was still pretty good with what he did during the game.

The bottom line is, getting pick 6 was a master stroke, it gives us a crack at landing one of the elite players available in a shallow draft.

The club will have penciled in their top three or four in the draft with the likelihood that at least one will still be their at pick 6.

The closer we get to draft day the more anxious I'm becoming.

I just hope aish is taken before pick 6 and we get our hands on ben lennon.

Aish is a soft one paced overrated dud who has showed nothing to impress me.

He is Bryce gibbs and jimmy toumpas all over and if we get him at 6 I probably wont buy a membership.

Don't get sucked into predictions and phantom drafts, he isn't that good despite being touted as #2 all year, Personally if we can land one of Lennon, Sheed, Freeman
