So Harry Taylor has come out today and said there is a strong tie with family back home,
we should be throwing the kitchen sink at this guy.

He's a perfect replacement for Glassy in a creative rebounder sense.
Great clubman and showed he can play back and forward and still has some solid years ahead

We'd need a strong offer for him especially with Freo prob lurking with McPharlin getting to the end.
Mitch Brown can go play with James Gwilt for all i care if we can use whatever we get for him if he still wants out as well as maybe/probably another player or draft pick.

Gee, that throws the cat amongst the pigeons (eagles) doesn't it.

We've got to have a crack at him, but the price that Geelong would put on him would be at a premium you would think.

As much as I would like to get him, I'd sort of also like to see him being a one club player as well.

Freo will be too busy chasing Buddy.

We'd be crazy not to go after Taylor though. Not sure what the Cats would be asking for though, ideally we wouldn't part with another first rounder.

He's able to provide far more rebound than both Emac and Brown who are almost exclusively lock down defenders.

Think you forgot a 'not', as in "We'd be crazy not to go after Taylor..."

Would be an outstanding get, especially if Brown still wants out. Not sure how many years Glass will play on for.

However, he is not a free agent, so a move to West Coast or Fremantle would have to come via a trade.

Hmm, people were saying he'd be a restricted free agent. If we have to trade for him, it makes things 10x more difficult.

You mean we'd be crazy not to go after Taylor?

Edit: Beaten to it

I reckon Brown would still want to head back to Vic, so why not Taylor for Mitch Brown and a draft pick(s) perhaps?

I'd love to see him in our back line, it'd free up Hurn to run up the ground where his kicks could do some real damage on the scoreboard

I would trade our first rounder every year to get an elite player, albeit age.

1st + ?, and I'm willing to do it quick smart.

yeah if we lose brown have a crack at harry for sure, also he think he played all his junior footy with JK. but really if we're gonna be bringing in top end talent id preffer to grab it for the midfield.
Yeah I feel like this is more the cherry rather than the cake.
Our backline is very good and having 3 good, young tall defenders in EMac, Schofield and Brown makes us the envy of most.
There's no doubt that Harry would improve the team, but the midfield should be the number one priority. Were there to be no outstanding quality up for grabs in the trade period (I'm thinking Rich, O'Meara, Swallow, Coniglio et al), and if the draft didn't offer us much quality talent at our pick, I'd be all for throwing the kitchen sink at Taylor.
Brown and our first pick probably wouldn't cut it (provided our pick is in the teens), and I'm not sure what other trade options we have...

He's a restricted free agent though. If they land Franklin they might not have the cash for Taylor but they will have the currency for the trade.

No reason why we can't go for both Harry Taylor and Lance Franklin. We've got players on our list who we can easily move along who are taking up salary cap space like Kerr etc.

would dale thomas ever be considered ?? i mean i dont know just curious ? obviously playing for buddy or harry would be the preferred option but would daisy ever move west ??
