OTHER TEAMS???? As if!!
Has anyone else noticed an "unnatural" appreciation of all things Freo by our feathered raptor opponents?

They really seem to be playing us up at the mo.

I reckon the Eagles brigade may just be starting to get jittery

haha. and they say we are the ones who worry about them.

if we beat them in this derby the pants will be browned bigtime.

It would be good for WA footy if we knock them out.

That will make the one who have splinters in their bums choose one side of the fence or the other.

I would much rather they hated us instead of thinking they can just "jump on"

I actually feel the opposite. Derbies will always be firey etc etc but as a combined force footy in WA can achieve more with the two friendly then not IMO.

How? Share players and tactics? Train together?

I don't have a problem with the clubs working together to make Subiaco Oval as difficult as possible for visiting teams. But the wet toast supporters who consider us their second side when we play well are often the same people who are first to put the boot in when we play poorly, and this gives me the sh1ts. The people who sit infront of me said that they don't attend derbies because they support both sides equally, which was dissapointing. Its good that the club is making money from eagles supporters, but I would much rather have 35,000+ passionate Freo supporters at Subi every 2nd week.

Incidents like Judd getting booed and most of us supporting Sydney last year will help get them off the fence, but if we beat them in a final I think a real rivalry between supporters will be created, putting an end to this second side/state pride garbage.

There's a woman who sits behind me who comes with her daughter (who appears to be a "real" Freo supporter). While the daughter was off at the loo or bar or wherever, I got talking to the mother at half-time of the last derby, as I often do during breaks. I was saying whatever I was saying about being nervous etc, and she responded with, "well I don't really care who wins cos I support both sides, but I s'pose since it's a Freo game I'd better go for Freo. (insert insincere little laugh)"

Seriously I wanted to clock her one. I haven't spoken to her again since then. Her insipidness and inabilty to choose her team peeved me greatly! I even had a more friendly "exchange" with the weagle supporters sitting near her when I was writhing in agony when Staker kicked that last Slimey goal...

Last season I was in different seats, and we kicked a late goal to seal the game (can't recall who it was against) and the lady next to me yelled "hooray, go eagles.........I mean dockers!" I must have given her a filthy look because she apologised and went bright red.
