Don't know how Oscar Allen got the Eagles the compo they did he's never been that good.

It’s mostly based on the contract …. he got something like 6-years and $5.5m. It’s going to be one of the worst contracts in footy history… Allen needs to hope Lions keep winning and nobody notices it too much. He actually looks physically cooked.

Soft Nick is the biggest chip scab in the comp

The last few minutes was Naicos personified. Went into centre square contest with game alive half arsed and a bit scared and Crows got the ball… then at end of game he runs by and gets a handball receive and kicks a goal when game was cooked.

He’s had 74 disposals for the season and 13 of those have been contested…. yes, just 13.

He’s an elite athlete and has high footy IQ … but put him in the absolute heat of battle and it’s not his go. He’s a terrific player but the game relies on winning hotly contested ball and he rarely does it …. so in my eyes he’s not a patch on the likes of Bont, Heeney, Rowell and Serong as they get the hard ball.

We gave him 7, but on around $700k / season… salary cap is no issue but it will be for the Lions. And in fairness he averaged 25 and 6 clearances in 2025 and came 3rd in the B&F. Allen probably won’t come top-15 in the Lion’s B&F his entire career.

Couldn’t make it up …just a week after the most obvious HTB in the Saints goal square wasn’t given against Pies.

I hate the stand rule, but with the rule in place it was the most obvious 50m penalty in history where 4 x players were ‘inside 5’ and they all retreated.

It’s so stoooopid to use the excuse ‘nobody knew that nobody decided to ‘stttaaannnndddddd’. If the umpire ignored it and Pies won the controversy would be 10 fold.

Bont hasn't stood up consistently in Finals. He is probably at Dangerfield level which is outstanding.
