The pressure rating of all the teams this weekend has been very high. Would be nice if we can continue the trend come Sunday night and be one of those teams again

Fk me what a finish

Great Wall of Allir almost pulled off a stunner. Fair gap between the list imo. But Port coming to play every week now it seems

Reports coming in that Max King has done a hammy in his 2nd game back in the VFL. Very long run of injuries.
That's rough. Hopefully he can get his body right soon because he's been extremely unlucky in his career.

We're very lucky we picked Ben in that draft class. There was some talk at the time that we could pick both King twins, but in the end I think we got the best possible outcome by drafting Ben and not drafting Max. For context, we used the two earlier picks on Lukosius, who we traded for a top 10 pick that was used to secure Petracca, and we traded Rankine for a top 10 pick that was used to draft Bailey Humphrey. So with the exception of Humphrey exporing his options last year, I think we've done well to maximise our return from that draft class. Even if Humphrey ends up leaving, we'll no doubt receive good return for him so it's pretty much always going to be green ticks for us in what we did with those picks/players.

When Max was fit i always envied his contested work, great pack mark, was better than Ben at that but his body never held up 😢

Jack Higgins out with concussion after a training incident. Assuming this means he misses our game next week which would be massive for us. He kicks goals for fun against the suns.

It's a minimum 12-day concussion protocol in the AFL and our game against the Saints is in 7 days from now. So I think it would be fair to assume Higgins won't be playing. Like you suggested, that would be massive for us because we always struggle to stop him and I feel like he would've thrived in the Darwin conditions.

Big game tonight in regards to the top 4 that could have future ramifications in September. Either way, we're going to move within one win of the 2nd placed Dockers or the 3rd placed Hawks if we beat St Kilda on Saturday night. I'd probably slightly prefer a Fremantle win tonight. I feel like we match up better on Freo and we've already proven we can beat them in a final in Perth.

Freo have improved alot and we havent really. They'd roll us quite easily i reckon.

Perhaps, but if we could choose to play Hawthorn at the MCG or Fremantle at Optus then I think I'm slightly leaning towards Freo at the moment. The Hawks have already given us a touch up this year and I think it'll be much closer or we might even beat Fremantle when we end up facing them later this year. I just think we match up better on them. Willing to concede that right now we likely lose to both of them, but a lot can change between now and September.

Anyway. Should be interesting to see who wins tonight.

If we ever make the GF would love to be playing Freo.

Just imagine the Melbourne Media Meltdowns....glorious.

Melburnians lost it when the 2004 GF was Brisbane v Port. I suspect we'd see the same thing if it was us vs Freo in the GF 22 years later.
If you want to take it a step further, If we count Brisbane as Fitzroy and Sydney as South Melbourne - There's never been a fully interstate grand final.

So us playing one of Freo, Adelaide, West Coast, Port, GWS or Tassie for a Flag would be the truest test of Victorian melts.

I didn't see much in it but comments saying Butters deserves a week for his bump. What are the odds he gets a week?
