My main point is that if we don't become preimership contenders before Fev is either gone or too old to carry our forward line; Waite is perfect to step in.

Anyway; this is my take.

Our Current Structure is looking very nice. With our players maturing; our recruiting of talent is paying off; but more importantly as we go on there is much more improvement to come.

Present Structure
I'll Start with our backs.
Waite and Thornton are our KP defensive backbone; and now can regularly handle gun forwards. I believe our defense has been well (but still incompletely) addressed. Jamison and Bower are the new breed of defenders; big boys who can also run. They can hold their own as well as giving run from the backline.
Scotland is providing the main rebounding. When walker comes back these 2 should seriously go nuts. Grigg, Browne, Anderson give us a bit of depth and quality to cover injuries as we are seeing now.

Our mids are already quality. Won't say much except that in the next 3 years they will explode as Murphy, Gibbs but most importantly Kreuzer mature.

Forwards. I'd like us to just have Fevola and Fisher as targets. With Betts the only other 'forward' as he is our best crumber.
The rest of our 'forwards' i would like just being midfielders who simply push into the forward line to provide targets.
Perhaps something we're missing is a medium forward type (like Medhurst, S.Johnson)

I'll go you one better and suggest that (hopefully sooner rather than later) when the name Mark Austin belongs alongside Thornton, Jamison and Bower as our core defensive unit, then our core offensive unit will comprise Fevola, Waite and Fisher; and then my friend, its #17 (#18, #19?.....) time! :D

After what waite has shown in the back half this year, i firmly believe he should stay down there and that we should look to trade for a forward and draft other forwards in the draft this year.

hmm would hope we have more options than fisher, fev and betts in the future..... and i think waite should stay down back now permanently.

Thus our forward line is something we need to address in the upcoming draft/trade period as spoken before by other posters.
Need a genuine CHF. Hampson and sentanta get too lost at CHF, both dont have the nouse and cant read the game well enough to play there. Kreuzer and cloke is an option at CHF but then we would have to play 3 ruckman in the side virtually and may become to top heavy, a genuine CHF would just give us some balance.

we also need a medium sized forward in the mould of lappin to come into the side (why doesn't he just play afl! his still bloody good enough!)

Pretty much we need to replace whitnall/kennedy at CHF and lappin

I think Fev is a rare find and Waite, who is only 2 yrs younger than him, is never going to come within a bull's roar of him as a FF
