Meh not the most I've seen for a guitar.

Me either and by a long stretch but if you actually read the docket he's posted it looks like a pretty stock standard Paul Reed Smith which I wouldn't think would cost $10k. Having said that, if it's a typo I wouldn't have thought 1k would be enough. PRS guitars generally aren't that cheap brand new.. hence; notsureifsrs.gif

EDIT: Just took my own advice and read the docket a bit more closely and have seen the quotation to be painted on the back of the headstock.. still 10k?

Well **** me. That'd be one sweet axe then. Worth more than all mine put together.

Please post pics when you get it and congrats. :thumbsu:

lol I have a 5 x guitar rack. I told my wife that I only had 4 guitars
And she had to do the maths. She's pretty awesome though, since we've been
Married she's allowed me to get a Les Paul, American Deluxe Strat, Burns Brian May signature and a Taylor acoustic.

You didn't get that from Mega Music by any chance did you? I know they had one there for a while. Almost bought it myself. Would like to hear your thoughts on it. I found all the pick up wizardry intriguing.. plus I had visions of sounding something like Brian May.

When I read on your order sheet "red coral" inlays I assumed that was a colour.. not that it's actually red freaking coral. :D Begs the question.. what kind of amp(s) have you got?

I have a mid 80's Les Paul Standard, Fender Deluxe Tele (reissue), Gretch Electromatic, a Warlock (second guitar - bought it new 20 odd years ago for $700), a Hofner Violin bass and just a middle of the road Ibanez electric/acoustic. Oh yeah I bought a cheap twin neck strat off eBay too with the view to replacing the necks with genuine Fender necks.. swapping out the pick ups etc. I still have that view but other things keep popping up and my wife is, shall we say, less understanding than yours from the sounds of it. ;)

I was actually looking at getting a new Les Paul recently, spending about 4k. I like what they're now doing with all the push/pull pick up stuff too and I just wanted something that was new (I bought my existing LP second hand in the 90's). Anyway I picked one up in the store and couldn't believe how light it was. Didn't feel right. I went home and did some research and found out they're "weight relieving" them these days. Boring holes in the body like swiss cheese and hollowing out channels and chambers in it. I was devastated. My LP is a log and I wouldn't dream of having one that wasn't. Not sure what to do now.. maybe look at getting a newer second hand one?

I found the burns at kosmic, however, apart from the PRS order from music park, I do all my business with mega at Wangara now. They gave me great deals on equipment for my studio and it is only 100m away from them anyway! I have a Laney tube fusion and a Hughes and kettner amp. I will get a twin one day though! The burns, I only purchased, because I am a Hugh queen fan! I just had the neck redone and it is freaking magic. My Les Paul is a B F G and is as light as a feather and is awesome

Being a huge Queen fan is a very good reason to get one notwithstanding the fact that it also seems to be a pretty nice guitar. What do you mean you had the neck redone? Refretted? Can you get that Brian May sound out of it or do you need a Vox as well?

Interesting LP. I would be totally cool with you posting pics by the way. I just don't think I could get used to playing a weight reduced one. :(

I had a fret catching the strings so I had it refretted and redressed - plays beautifully now. Vox and treble booster helps, but it does sound kind of authentic - a sixpence is also handy!
