Careful - the Cox cult will come after you.

I’m not sure about last year, but I am sure that the coaches have put a lot of time into Oscar. Looks like a classic big man development scenario where they worked and worked on him - and it’s paying off.
I maintain one or two games last year wouldn’t have done any harm. Love big Mase as well

his centre bounce work is pure magic, needs to be there as often as possible. we had the foot on their throat after the first 5 minutes of the last qtr, replaced him with Cameron, then they goal straight away. i dont know why we invite opposition back into the game so often
Steene has to be at centre bounces at the start of every qtr

Cameron is still way above him around the ground, but Steenes jumping ability and his forward marking threat is such a threat to opposition.

will only get better, imagine how good he will be in a couple of years when his body strengthens up so he can hold his ground against the big rucks at boundary throw ins etc.

the highlight so far for the year, then again, we all waiting to see what West can do when finally unleashed

Absolutely. It’s shit for Cameron but we must be doing what is best for the team with the new rules.
I don't think it's necessarily shit for Cameron, we will be less reliant on him, he can sit in the backline, forward or have a kabab on the bench.

But you would of seen Cameron when Steene played his first game, he was rapt for him. Camerons a brilliant footballer, Steene is building to one, together they could be an unstppable force, like Voltron. :thumbsu:

He didn’t have Briggs or Pittonet to jump over those games
I think he didn't attend CBA against Freo cause putting him up against a ruckman like Jackson might of destroyed his confidence. He's building nicely, the new ruck rules certainly help. Just needs to get stronger, so he can ruck around the ground, but that's where Cameron can step in.

He gives us a real advantage against lumbering rucks like Pittonet & Briggs. His ability to pinch hit forward will help him play more as his tank develops.

I liked what Fly said, reflecting upon his development coach years and our youth, that one of the most important parts of developing youngsters is generating that sense of belief in their belonging at the level. It looks to me that Steene is starting to believe

Should have been playing from the start of the season. That is not a hindsight call either.

And he should have been resting forward more often. Has shown more potential than Buller when playing forward.

Last week we failed to make the most of Sean Darcy being off the ground. In fact we allowed Jackson to dominate.
Jackson is a Athletic Freak so harder to match up on

He's got an air of confidence, a good level of arrogance when it comes to his contested marking.
Like the way he just bodies Dean out of the way

Did you hear that divi commentator say that has to a push in the back, that was all he did was out bodies Dean no hands anywhere. A fine mark and goal in the quarter, just strong hands it hits them and sticks, one grab and then dobs them very good.No Carlton player complained about that mark just superior body work that,s all.

That mark showed a lot of development and technique - he was aware that he had Dean covered and focussed on keeping Weitering out of the marking contest and took care of Dean with body position.

If that was a push in the back we should have received the free in that prelim against the Swans when Papley really did push Moore in the back. It that wasnt a free then nothing was. Great body work by Steene on Dean who is still learning the caper.

Wish we had 2-3 perrymans

What a great player
Tough hard calm competitive versatile
Rarely gets recognized for the great work he does in games. Kane Cornes called him a failure as a recruit and basically a spud just last year and then he finished 5th in the Copeland I believe.

The campaigner said he should have been delisted

I think he’s still salty he didn’t go to Port
