Heartbreaking for the kid. Doesn't deserve it. Has been a revelation this year.
But he'll bounce back.
Well might not see him back at AFL Level until 2nd Half of 2027 or even 2028 Sadly

he isnt missing the entire 2027 season as long as his recovery goes well.
next april-may at the latest.

Well then still have to get Game Fitness Back and would need a Good Chunk of VFL Game Time to be AFL Ready

He could come in late in the Season but also trying to be Realistic

Bigger disappointment than losing the game was Steene’s potential ACL. We have very few young talented guys and he was shaping to be one. This will be a setback for us and him.
As a shorter ruckman, that leap is his one wood.

Looked bad straight away when it happened.
He has time on his side so he'll bounce back but why in the actual **** this has to happen to our brightest young prospect.
Gutted.

Don't think we will see him until mid season next year. They will definitely take their time with him.

Will miss seeing his ruckwork in the middle.

Feel so bad for Oscar, :( just as he started living his dream.
Such rotten luck for him after already losing a year with injury
Can't even imagine how he must be feeling.

As NMBB said, he and Reef will be able to work and support each other throughout the recovery journey.

Did a big ruck load, in the wet against a more experienced and stronger Grundy contribute to it happening or just bad luck?
It was bad luck. Grundy pushed him off balance and his body went one way and his leg the other. Grundy didn't do anything wrong btw

Bloody sucks for him and the club. It was his first game playing majority ruck minutes, he looked fatigued at times. Yeah I didn't think Grundy did anything wrong either.
