The difference is that there is an advantage in exceeding interchanges and to get rid of the advantage you'd have to wind back the game and reverse the interchange. In terms of a 6-6-6 warning - no advantage was had because the game doesn't restart until they're all in place.
It’s a breach of the rules.
And there is no other breach of the rules that does not have a consequence applied.
This doesn’t have any consequence applied.
And that’s pretty much unconscionable.

I had to triple check that when I first heard it.. 😱 imagine if Teague does well as interim with Tigers, Ratts does well as interim at Roos, we have Bolton doing well with us...just a bit more salt into the Blues wounds 😆
And don’t forget they let Lyon slip through their fingers because they thought they needed a “Process”.

Yeah, let's increase the number of technical frees. They're great. My favourite part of the game.

My initial comment in this was connected to the interchange rule and harsh penalty North received on the weekend, ie a free and a 50..yet this 6-6-6 rule they consistently just give warnings for. It's the inconsistency of applying rules which shits me.
Wasn't there a game this year where we gave free kicks away (twice) because of the 6-6-6 rule?

Maybe someone can recall who it was against.

So you’d rather the rule continue to not be enforced?
Just like the head high tackle rule isn’t enforced when it’s certain players being infringed?
It’s a rule. You don’t get to pick and choose when it’s enforced. The 6-6-6 rule has no teeth. So drop it or enforce it.

Immaterial.
There may have been a small, small percentage of this breach that has been penalised.
But the majority of the breach have gone unpunished.
If you have a ruckman who is dominant on the throw up, but not so good at the ball up, why wouldn’t you engineer a warning to gain the throw up advantage when down by 1 to 5 points and a minute to go in a granny?
And don’t think someone in the AFL coaching ranks hasn’t already thought of that scenario.

I wasn't make a case for or against the rule, I was merely stating/asking that I thought we had free kicks against us for breaching the rule.

The rule meets its purpose and is enforced. Game doesn't restart until the 6 6 6 is in place and after the second time a team isn't in place on time a free kick is paid.

Would you like them to pay a 50 every time someone is over the mark, rather than giving them a warning to move back a metre? Umpires give warnings in a lot of circumstances to avoid technical frees. I think it's great

Yes, that's what I thought too... against Lions. Fly put it down to confusion because it was the first week of our makeshift ruck situation.
I get so angry at some decisions, couldn't remember which game. You are right, it was that game

Can't see the scum losing this one. Should be an easy, yet meaningless, kill for those flat trackers.
Agreed they shouldn't lose. Charlie and Harry will probably get 10 between them. Still let my heart rule though and tipped the Swans.

Tipping against Carlton in any 60-40 or 50-50 game is serving me well so far this year.
