Please don't take this too seriously, but I've had a go at naming a possible 2006 line up, that hopefully can take us to a Premiership!

B. Matthew Whelan, Nathan Carroll, Clint Bizzell
HB. Chris Heffernan, Ryan Ferguson, Jared Rivers
C. Daniel Bell, Adem Yze, Travis Johnstone (VC)
HF. Kepler Bradley, Nick Smith (C), Steven Armstrong
F. Cameron Hunter, Brad Miller, Chris Johnson
R. Darren Jolly, Cameron Bruce, Scott Thompson
Int. Mark Jamar, Aaron Rogers, Colin Sylvia, Adam Fisher

Now I know that this will not be the side, but it looks bloody good on paper!!

Maybe our future is looking bright?

It will take a lot of those player until 2007/2008 to be topline but it does look impressive.

With some swift trading we could speed the process up a bit.

Our 2004/2005 Premiership side:
B. Bizzell Nicholson Brown
HB.Whelan Ferguson Ward
C. Yze Goodwin Johnstone
HF. Bruce Whitnall Bode
F. Miller Nietz Vardy
R. Jolly Thompson Godfrey
I/C From: Jamar Bell Lamb Wheatley
Walsh Jmac Carroll Williams Ellis Broadbridge

All it needs is some magic on the forward line and maybe one more solid defender and it’s premiership material.

If all goes to plan, that is an awesome side Lamby (u will always be Lamby! :D)

2 things....

Neitz will still be playing in '06, and I believe that Clint Bizzell could be out next captain, but then that depends on Neitz.

CHALLENGING FOR A FLAG IN 2006:
Just a quick team i made up.

B: Whelan Carroll Bizzell
HB: Bruce J.Rawlings Godfrey
C: Armstrong Yze Thompson
HF: Green Miller Robertson
F: Farmer Neitz Vardy
R: Jolly N.Stevens J.McDonald
I: Heffernan R.Clarke Smith Jamar
E: Broadbridge Ferguson N.Brown

lol dont bag it too much.
Stevens was traded for Johnstone.
Farmer returned back to the dees.
J.Rawlings did the unthinkable and signed with melbourne.

Looks good on paper.

As you know, I like to pull up some old threads for laughs and this one was definitely quite epic.

Look at Nick Smith being the premiership captain at centre-half forward. Oh, what a dream that was.

:(

Out of that 22 listed in the first post, it's entirely likely that only 4 (Rivers, Bruce, Jamar and Sylvia) will still be on our list next year.

Loving the Nick Smith captaincy btw.

I search for specific things that I think would be funny. This one came after I was searching for Kepler Bradley posts that I remember being very complimentary of him. I remember some posters even being disappointed with us not taking him.

Glad to see you're not a Nazi-mod Deestroy :D

EPIC NECRO!!!

@ Scott Thompson and Darren Jolly: Where is my "So sad I'm emo-cutting myself" emote? Terribad decision to give them away. :(:(:(:(

Ah hindsight... If only Sheedy had some too... He still reckons Bradley will be a superstar....

Demon37 did make a good call on Jared Rivers though. That was before he had his awesome 2004. He mustn't have seen much in poor Brad Green though.

a bit of a worrying read since we are drafting names to build a 'premiership' side...I hope alot of those players were high draft picks I guess.

I find this thread deeply unsettling and depressing.

Its a harsh reminder of how quickly our hopes and expectations can come crashing down:(
