Our backline

Ive noticed every week a small forward kicks at least 3-4 goals on us and its become very frustrating as there is a long list of players who have done it to us all year. What can we do about this?


Btw it shits me that players i dont rate highly rip our backline to shreds too

One little Crow beat 4 of us at one stage.
I was too ashamed to get angry.
It was just sad.......you couldn't drag the whole 4 for being absolute idiots.

The back line has been very bad, they need to tighten up. those small forwards from the swans and now crow ripped them to shreds. the crows ran rings around them and beat them to the ball a bit too easily in the second half.

We allow the ball to come back into our defensive 50 so quickly that our backs are overwhelmed.
Our problem is and always has been defensive pressure in the forward line.
How come we take ten possies to work the ball into forward 50 and bomb to a poor option and have the ball taken out that quickly we can't keep up.
Yesterday we had Tivvers give away a goal and almost immediately miss a gimme. Polak can't kick for sh t. So that's four goals we didn't have to defend.Richo missed from thirty!
We've had a sh t forward line for twenty years.
Every time we try to develope a forward structure Richo pushes them out and demands the ball.
Take out the poor shot's and options and the backline would have performed adequately.
p.s. I don't know if I would pass to someone that can't kick goals.

I see what you are saying.
unfortunately I am not at most of the games because of my address but when listening to the game that is what it sounds like.I have to admit when you are losing the commentators twist the knife.
But.. we are not losing every game by ten goals and the close games we are getting more contested footy and more possessions overall and therefore I think my view has some credability.

Im not so sure about him.
But our small backman are decent-good when we have the ball but King gives a fair few frees against when its a 1 on 1 marking contest and Jordy is very soft.
