I personally would have Brown at CHB, with goldsack in the pocket.... Maxwell on the bench with Leon on the ground somewhere.....

How can Bryan not make the team ?

what more does he have to do to prove to collingwood supporters

Hes winning all our taps and to advantage hes taking huge marks down back saving the day and even kicks a goal here and there..

Our best 22 players, no injury, no suspension.

FB - T Goldsack, S Presti, B Johnson
HB - H Shaw, N Brown, H O'Brien
C - R Shaw, S Pendles, D Swan
HF - A Didak, T Cloke, P Medhurst
FF- L Davis, A Rocca, T Lockyer
R - J Fraser, S O'Bree, S Burns

Johnson's rebound out of defence and through the middle, followed by long kick into attack is too valuable in the back half and with Goldsack/Hertier, would take pressure of Heater at HB.

Shaw, Wellingham and Clarke, would be used as three runners through the midfield, getting assistance from ThomDidvis too.

Medhurst, at HF, is a remarkable player, and is the perfect type of player to deliver lace out from 60-70, and would be more then backable from 50 out. Can then be rested or utilised, one out deep in attack to expose some opponents.

Lockyer would have to be one of the best small leading forwards in the AFL. They seem to stick to his hands out on the lead and can take a one-on-one mark when he needs to. Is the utility of the team, but at the moment, is a great small forward to relieve Medhurst, Rocca and Cloke.

I - Bryan, Wellingham, Clarke, Thomas

Thomas rotating with Davis and Didak through HF and the midfield, aswell as with other midfielders like Swan and Pendles.

I initially had 3 ruckmen in, and took Wood out, not because we don't need 3 ruckmen, but because I had to include another midfielder. So Bryan rotating with Fraser through the forward line, and even running down back to fill the hole like he does well.

Wellingham and Clarke; Part of the midfield rotation.

Unlucky/depth - Wood, Wakelin, Maxwell, Rusling, Iles, Lonie, Holland, Cox, Egan

Fringe youngsters -Reid, Anthony, Dick, Stanley, Cook, Toovey

Up and comers - Dawes, McCarthy, Macaffer

i doubt presti would have much trade value at this stage. especially for a dominant forward! that is wishful thinking.

although sauce head merrett could do with some guidance down back and a presti for JB trade looks good ha ha.:D

I have to agree. Rusling is comfortably the starting FF (Malthouse is on record as saying the plans centred around Rus and Bucks at FF in 2007 and Rus in 2008) and Presti is three years younger than Wakes. I suspect that a fit Presti edges out a fit Wakes

I'd think that Goldsack, Wellingham, Bryan and Rusling would be considered prior to Iles at this stage. Presti remains an unknown given he's missed so much footy. Dick was given a chance during the pre-season but given his injury, it's hard to assess where he's really at.

Reid, Anthony, Iles, Stanley, Cox and Cook keeping putting their name in the ring without getting too many opportunities to prove their case at senior level.

Positions aren't really relevant as it's more about a squad of 22 these days.

Presti has done little for the club and is to old.
They should see if they could trade him for a big forward to take Roccas spot when he retires.
After that comment, I've lost all respect for you. Presti has been a proud clubman who's held his own for over a decade. Respect where respect's due; but unless you happen to be Stephen Silvagni or Darren Glass, I doubt you'd be even able to lick the slime of his boots as a player.

You are having a go at someone else and you dont even have swan in your best 22 shows what you know. I wouldnt rate your opinion on anything if he isnt in your team. swan would be one of first picked.

Has it occured to you that I didn't deliberately overlook him while I was making my squad. I assumed I'd put him down in the centre. It's been fixed, nob.

B: O'Brien - Presti - Goldsack
HB: H Shaw - Brown - Clarke
C: R Shaw - Pendlebury - Thomas
HF: Didak - Cloke - Medhurst
F: Lockyer - Fraser - Davis

R: Wood - Burns - O'Bree

Inter: Swan - Wellingham - Anthony - Bryan

Following players to definitely get a run to prove themselves: MacAffer as a medium forward. Iles and Stanley as pure midfielders. Possibly Dawes, but there is no rush, he isn't a chance to be delisted.

No Rocca: I like him as much as anyone, but he will NEVER be playing at 100% fitness ever again. He struggles athletically enough at 100% fitness, he just wont have the tank and mobility to make a consistent impact. As time progresses, mobility and fitness will become all the more important. Fraser can only make it as a forward at the moment. If he continues to play ruck we'll be lucky to see 50 more games out of him.

No Maxwell: Anthony can play a back pocket role just as effectively, and he can also swing up forward as well. One major thing Another has over Maxwell si the ability to defeat his direct opponent...I consider that a pretty important ability to have as a backman.

No Johnson: Too many clangers, too one sided, just doesn't do enough for me. Would consider playing him as a negating small backman, but that's it.

Leave Lockyer as a forward pocket, and have Thomas play a midfield role in his place. In effect, switching their positions basically. Lockyer has a good lead, good hands, and is USUALLY a reliable set shot ( though he can have some poor misses). Thomas going into the midfield = good. A main critisism of his is that he doesn't impact consistently, but I fail to see how you can playing as a small forward.

I listed Clarke on a back flank, but I'd like to see him play in the midfield as well.
