Being half way through the season and looking at players Form and considering long term injuries, I thought it would be interesting to pick what our Best 23 would look like .

B: Maynard, Frampton, Howe
HB : J Daicos, Moore, Houston.
C: Crisp, Long, Sidey
HF: Hill, Checkers, Shoota
FF: Billy, McStay, Membrey.
R: Cameron, Pendles, Nick.
Int: McCreery, IQ, Perryman, JDG.
Sub: WHE/ Lippa

Not sure I would include JDG at this point. Not sure about WHE either.
I do think Sully is a chance for best 23.

It's a fun exercise with the depth we have. Will be some unlucky people come September if we have a fit team.

I'm aware Lipinski seems to be a lock for the 23 which probably means Allan doesn't keep his spot but that's how I'd line us up anyway

I'm also assuming De Goey just wn't be right for the remainder of the season

Surprised that you left Crisp out. If we were going into a final and he is available, with his record, he would nearly be first picked.

F**k

I always do that. I always forget someone important. Our depth is a joke lol

This would be my team also. I'd have Mitchell sub, his tank coming in late would be really handy

This looks pretty good to me.

The great thing about 2025 is that we don’t have a best 23.

It’s more like a best 26.

The team that beat WCE on the weekend probably only has 4 fringe players who aren’t in anyone’s best 23 at this stage (West, Dean, Sullivan, Markov).

We’ll need Dean to hold the fort for a month or so, and he might come good in that time. He looked rusty against WCE, but it was only his 9th AFL game and he hasn’t played senior footy since round 8 last year.

Sullivan has only played 20 games and he did some good things in the game against WCE. Nobody saw Ned Long’s breakout coming, maybe Sullivan develops too and something similar happens?

We have 5 lock best 23 players who can and will come back in over the coming month or so (Maynard, McCreery, Schultz, Frampton, DeGoey).

Mitchell is on the sidelines - having a Brownlow medallist ball winner quietly toiling on the sidelines while we’re getting regularly beaten in clearances is quite a luxury.

Cox on his day is no slouch. There are still many twists and turns of this season to come, I wouldn’t right Cox off just yet.

Spot on. Isn't that some sort of "rule", 27 or so players required for a final series. Our depth is the strongest I can remember. Whether we can hit form at the right time is the key.
