Considering what pick they were taken at, which pick do you consider to be the best 'value'. Not the best overall player, just the best value for what pick we used on them.

I voted Meesen, as I never thought we'd get him at #8 - never!! Fancy us getting a ruckman who can mark and get the ball around the ground!! :D

We really won't know the true answer to this for 2 or 3 years but if Chris Knights lives up to his wraps, it could easily be him.

Now I don't know how much was hype and what was reality.
But with so many clubs wanting quality ruckmen for Maric to be avaialble at 40 when everyone was saying he would be gone in the early 20's, if not earlier, I think is a terrific get :)

I agree, I was shocked that he was there at 40, but went for Van Berlo as I think that along with Meeson he is the most likely to play AFL. His draft camp results were excellent and he has already played against men in the WAFL and WAFL 2's.

I think Meesen was predicted to go early, and slipped a couple of spots which is our good fortune, but this happens every year.

As I understand Brisbane were very keen on Van Berlo at 18. The sliding of Wood meant they felt obliged to take which consequently freed up Van Berlo for us :)

A couple of days before draft I ran into a certain person who is heavily involved in recruiting. I said to him SURELY WB aren't stupid enough to take a HUGE risk on Williams with pick 6. He said we are prepared for them to be conservative but if he is picked there it would be a nice little bonus for us because it would mean that one of the better players has slipped down to us.

We were certain to go with Wood but always rated Meesen higher. When he was there it was a no brainer.

However, Maric was a nice surprise for us. While Meesen was a nice little surprise, Maric appears to be the "value for money" pick :)

I like the sound of Knights, reading his profile he is a ball winning magnet with clean hands and can kick a goal or two. Sounds like an inside midfielder who is going to benefit from our two new ruckmen.

I wouldn't know as I haven't seen any of them play. Bit if the write ups are remotely accurate it is so heartening that they have brought some hard nuts into the club. Also, we might have a ruckman who can take a mark! Imagine that guys. A mark!!!!!

Hope they are in the forward lines. :)

Im stoked we drafted Meeson. I had my doubts about Wood. The "soft as butter" quote I read on BF worried me.

I voted for Meeson of course but Gibson will be a very good player

I'm pretty happy all round with our selections. Dont know much about Van Berlo but from what Ive read today he could be a good one. Also from what Ive read and heard today Knights might be another bargain.

Have to go with our first pick here though, getting Meesen could make up for what we didnt get with Angwin. Hawthorn and the Bullies could live to regret not taking him, once they see him in action for us and know what their meesen. :D
