Our Biggest Improver - Adam Pattison

Just wondering who you guys would consider is the Tigers biggest improver thus far this year. There are a few candidates but for me Pattison is the one. Thrown to the wolves so to speak with Simmonds and Knobel out for most of the year the kid has gone into most games against much more qualified ruckmen and although he might not win the hitouts he just gives a 100% each week and gets the most out of himself.

This kid last year played 15 games and averaged 8 possies and 3 marks a game, this year given the job of being our Number 1 ruckman has seen him increase his output to 13 possies and 5 marks as well as 10 hitouts a game in 9 games. Some of you may still doubt his value to the team but IMO he will be a very handy second ruckman to Simmonds in the next few years and may well even become a very handy number 1 ruckman when we enter Terry's era of success in 2011.

Let me just stress this is my opinion and I am fully aware that most of you will give Foley the nod maybe even Bling or Lids but seeing where this kid come from last year and the way he was seen to be an error on the clubs behalf I think he has proved more than a few of the doubters wrong and will hopefully become a very good player for the Tigers over the next few years.

Foley by streets IMO.

Whilst Patto has improved and doing well, Foley's gone from a former rookie struggling to play a full game, to one of the best midfielders in the comp.:thumbsu:

True about Foley but when you consider he played most of the season last year and was a regular ball winner, where as Patto was a struggler last year and even this year there were fans saying he was not worth the pick we took him at. If I had to choose now between Patto and Wood I know who I would take: Patto. As noted may not be the most skillful bloke out there but when he is out there you can guarantee 100% commitment to the team. Will get better as a ruckman too when given time to develop fully.

In Poll a few months ago when McGuane was our Fullback he actually won this prize as the most improved. But he can't get back into the seniors so I would say it would have to go to a Patto, Bling, Foley or Lids type player. Tivendale,as an older player shouldn't be over looked either. Clearly during the pre-season he knew his spot was on the line and in general has played primarily good footy in most games this year. Its his previous years that set him up for most of the critism he cops
