If I have said it once I have said it one thousand times! Gasper should not be in our side unless he can step up and take on the big powerfull fowards.
Bowden just doesn't have the body to play against the Gorillas and by him playing on the Gorillas we loose his solid defensive rebounds. I don't give a toss if Gasper can take out Big Red because im confident we would have 2 or 3 others players in our first the could do the same job and be more damaging on the rebound.
If the Gas can't step up my plan would be to play McGuane or Thurty on these players and have Newman next to the contest to be the third man up. Unfortuantly this leaves Raines and the Bowdens to cover Newmans opponent aswell, but it would still be the best option.
Besides if we have JB playing in the quater back role he does so well then he can also help out the Fullback by being an extra man up in contests.

THE ONLY FULL FOWARD JOEL BOWDEN SHOULD PLAY IS BRAD JOHNSON!!!

Yer he was, playing on a 2nd rate slow foward who can't get of the ground and can't get his own possesion. Make no mistake if Bowden played on Whitnal he would also have been in our best. The only difference would have he would have had twice as many touches as Gasper

Id be putting Jay Schulz to full back..tell me he couldve done worse than Joel Bowden last night!?!? Have Polak and Sarge on the key backs and someone like Thursfield/McGuane on the third tall....get someone like matty White to take over Raines role on the small fwds and get boys who can use the ball like Casserly and Meyer onto a back flank or even Johnson who is like a geriatric in the middle. Then get Bowden, Raines, Newman and Deledio out of the backline and into the guts - where the game is actually won. Have Pattison, Richo, KK, Hughes and a restin Simmonds as our tall up fwd.

schulz actually looked dangerous up forward and now you want to take him to fullback? schulz should play forward - thats it! stop trying to make forwards, defenders -

as for gaspar, what else does the bloody bloke have to do? he murdered his oppenent, made 7spoils, had 18 touches, and two of those were clangers - that isnt bad, he gets in the top 3 on ground in the age, and people are still giving him crap.
