Sadly the squiggle was way off. We're only predicted to get four wins for the season, but aside from Essendon, none of the remainder of our games are we clear favourites to win. We get the remainder of our wins as the sum of probabilities, according to the squiggle.

If we can't beat one of Essendon or Brisbane in the next 2 weeks heads should roll. There's nothing about either of these 2 teams that I've seen this season that makes them clearly better than us in the situation we find ourselves in.

This Saturday should be the first win for 2016, if it's not I imagine a WAFL sized crowd(Foundation Day derby) for the Port game.

To be fair Brisbane have gone close to some pretty good teams at the Gabba this year. But yeah, Essendon at home is an absolute must win.

Who really cares about a wooden spoon. Its quickly forgotten. Does anyone remember who the spooners where 2/ 3/5 years ago.

Wow couldn't disagree more they are embarrassing and a serious mark of shame on a club. I remember a lot of them, was good when WC got one in 2010. Is there really ever much difference between the quality of players that go in the first 3? We probably wont even want to draft the same guy as Essendon or Brisbane or whoever.

Needs to be avoided at all costs, it still annoys me we picked one up in 2001.

I don't want the wooden spoon nor pick 1. I feel like there's added pressure on pick 1 much like Jack Watts. Pick 2, 3 or 4 would still be a quality gun.

They have their own, Geelong's and Collingwood's from memory. None of which are likely to be great draft picks. They'd also want a total points increase to make it worth their while. So pick 2 would be worth pick 13 & 14 or something. It's better to trade up the order with the academy clubs not down it imo.

Ta. For some reason I thought they had a couple in the top five, which I'd be more than happy to trade them for if we got the top pick.

Yeah I think a few people are thinking pick #1 could be traded for two early picks. Pick #1 would be worth pick #5 plus #18 at best or maybe #9 & #10. I still don't like the idea splitting a high pick. If we had our second rounder I would consider packaging it to upgrade to give us a second first rounder though. Someone just needs to offer Mayne an insane contract to do that... if only but not going to happen

I'm with Kram81 here. You never want a wooden spoon, and multiple spoons are just awful. You know what's actually quickly forgotten? Who the number 1 draft pick was in any particular year. Spoons are forever.
