What is going on? Patto and jacko deep in the last quarter? Gee that was threatening.

Our forward line is like Bourke street all day with guys just standing in front of richo taking up space and creating a massive crowd.

The way Collingwod created space for their forwards was very impresisve, Our seem to be instructed to stick together and create a massive pack with no crumbers.

Their forwards ran away to leave their keys alone.

Who is in charge of the forward line??? Anyone?

Its our biggest weakness at this moment.

Last week and again this week I believe we matched it with our opponoents in the backline, and got enough in the midfield to be evens. But our foward line simply aint functioning and is our greatest weakness at this point.

Totally agree with both posts. Been worried about our forward line and the way we enter it for a while now. Collingwood had a clear system. Our is all over the place and makes no sense. Im sick of it. If we can dominate the clearances and get done by 8 goals then it is obviously a coaching issue!

We are losing maybe 3 goals a game through the lack of a genuine defensive forward/crummer who will not only sneak a couple of goals but ensure we lock the ball down in our attacking 50.

Hooray! Take a bow beaver! 100 5 right!

I have been rabbiting on about this for weeks and been shot down by that great flog, razorwire.

Whoever is in charge of that forward set up should have their pay docked.

Can someone wake me up when we recruit a KPP that looks anything like kicking more than 50 goals in a season...it's fair to say apart from Richo we have had Jack ^^$% in the way of key forwards in last 30 years:eek:

Brian Talyor, Mark Jackson, Michael Roach, Jeff Hogg...

Instead of 30 years, you shoulda gone 20.

Apart from Richo we've had nothing/nor traded anything for 20 years.

kicking into the forward 50 was woeful, no wonder they had no marks and the pies had numbers behind the ball. brown made a few leads but tried to mark on his chest too much.

polak seems a better player up foward and i think hes more interested up there.

maybe we should stick with schulz at chb instead of him playing half the game foward and half back, and stick with polak up foward instead of being rotated through?

we only picked one tall foward today and that was richo, i dont understand how we cant have cleve or jack in the side in a structural sense?

Our foward structure is simple crowd the foward line as much as possible make sure all of our players fly for the mark when the ball falls to ground oppositon run the ball easily out of our foward 50 ,seen better foward structures at auskick games.

Richo should be playing at CHF not FF. He always attracts a crowd which clogs up our forward line for players to lead. Lets face it, I'd rather Richo lining up for goal from around the 50 mark thank at close range. Why the ____ can't TW see this?????

I agree, even though are forwards are really lazy, this is far more important, we move the ball out of defence so slowly, are eventually put under pressure and then just put a poor kick to a contest, obviously by then the opposition have everyine back and just need to put on the ball on the deck and our forwards have no chance. They then just run in numbers and are able to put the ball (under no pressure) into a very open forward line. Our problems start further up the ground.

But did you see that huge turnover he did in the 3rd when he had it 70 out, dribbled a shocking kick to Maxwell and Collingwood charged it out i think Ben Johnson kicked a goal just as we were coming back. Still have to be good with disposal and decison making as a CHF.

Is that ass clown Jade Rawlings still in charge of the forward line? He couldn't kick a goal to save himself at Hawthorn and then became a laughing stock at Footscray and we recruit him as a forward coach? Why does the club keep making dumb mistakes. Wayne Campbell and Leon Cameron should be our assistant coaches.

Its our biggest weakness at this moment.

Last week and again this week I believe we matched it with our opponoents in the backline, and got enough in the midfield to be evens.

We got doubled in clearances last week Dice, and our backline movement was generally slow, wide and poor - as it was today.

This week our first-in clearance work was very good (a major positive to take out of today's game), but we were poor at finding a man in space (and making that space) in the centre, with lots of chains of handballs which went nowhere but to put someone else under the pump. Consequently, our delivery to the forward line - when it actually got that far from one of our clearances (often it didn't because we'd turned it over) - was generally rushed, lacking penetration or quality, or both.

Collingwood has a very good backline - it makes up for their average midfield. They play very tight man on man, they move the ball quick and long from deep in defence, and they have a strong core of players who run hard to create options for the bloke with the ball.

Our forward line was not good; during the first quarter and a half when we were being smashed we didn't have a single mark inside-50. That's part credit to Collingwood's defence, part down to very average midfield delivery inside-50, and part down to our forward's simply not being able to hold their marks on the lead.

When we moved the ball well (and kicked straight in front of goal!) we held our own ok.
