I love Will Thursfield, the way he goes about it, not afraid to take on a bigger opponent, gets plenty of kicks and is good overhead. A shitload of gym work over the off season and he will be no worries. McGuane is a different kettle of fish, more athletic and I was more sceptical of him. But he's come on well, if he sorts out his kicking he will slot nicely into the second key defensive role.
Cleve seems to be taking a little longer, but I rate him. He is big, and we will use his presence in the forward 50 next year and beyond. Riewoldt looks a ready made goalkicker, not huge but can take a fine grab and has no trouble kicking a long one from 55 as we saw against the Bombers. I think he will be a Tony Modra type player.
In 3 years, our spine will be as good as any, with these four blokes holding us up. Not to mention the likes of Foley, Deledio and The Cotch(?) running through the guts. Patto's early experience will hold him in good stead for the rest of his career too. At the moment we have a lot of quick, raking flankers. We tried to phase them out by getting rid of Cameron, Fiora, Chaffey, Fleming etc, but still boast the Bowdens and Tivendale, Hyde, Jackson and Newman.
I think the future of this club lies in its spine, the big blokes, and I think its in good hands.

...Roughhead has rode the crest of hysteria behind buddy, he'll come back to the filed and be regarded as more the one pace plodder that Benny Holland made famous
