AFL Club
Richmond
I love Will Thursfield, the way he goes about it, not afraid to take on a bigger opponent, gets plenty of kicks and is good overhead. A shitload of gym work over the off season and he will be no worries. McGuane is a different kettle of fish, more athletic and I was more sceptical of him. But he's come on well, if he sorts out his kicking he will slot nicely into the second key defensive role.

Cleve seems to be taking a little longer, but I rate him. He is big, and we will use his presence in the forward 50 next year and beyond. Riewoldt looks a ready made goalkicker, not huge but can take a fine grab and has no trouble kicking a long one from 55 as we saw against the Bombers. I think he will be a Tony Modra type player.

In 3 years, our spine will be as good as any, with these four blokes holding us up. Not to mention the likes of Foley, Deledio and The Cotch(?) running through the guts. Patto's early experience will hold him in good stead for the rest of his career too. At the moment we have a lot of quick, raking flankers. We tried to phase them out by getting rid of Cameron, Fiora, Chaffey, Fleming etc, but still boast the Bowdens and Tivendale, Hyde, Jackson and Newman.

I think the future of this club lies in its spine, the big blokes, and I think its in good hands.

We won't have the best future spine, haven't used the picks on them. The Hawks spine is to die for!

Obviously the Hawks spine is the best, but it's not all about picks, it's about development and comfort. I think the the Tigers are starting to get the right idea with recruiting though.

There are doubts Riewoldt will be a KPP. Hughes has done very little and Schulz is ahead of him (only 2 years older too). Hughes did nothing in the preliminary final - disgraceful and a worrying sign IMO.

McGuane still cant kick but otherwise will be a fantastic player.

Thursfield is the ONLY quality, young, genuine KPP on our list, and even then he will not actually put on much more weight for the rest of his career.

Hopefully Polak can hold CHB next year, otherwise we will be stuck with him kicking for goal for the next 7 years...

JON will surprise some of you and become a decent CHB one day IMO.

who are their key backman, Gilham and croad, hmmm to die for:o...Roughhead has rode the crest of hysteria behind buddy, he'll come back to the filed and be regarded as more the one pace plodder that Benny Holland made famous

If Colllingwood want Judd bad they'll have to get pick 2 from us.

Ben Reid and Nathan Brown have been mentioned in trade - 2 x KPP from last years draft.
Keep the PSD for McGuire.
Draft a quick Midfilelder with picks 18, Ruckman with 19 and all of a sudden our KP stocks are just fine.

Collingwood won't want to do it but Eddie will know the Premiership window is open and getting Judd with be a marketing dream.
They wil have to pay a price that will hurt.

I keep hearing all this about riewoldt not being a key position player but the fact of the matter is that he played chf for tasmania as a 17 year old kid and has dominated the coburg foward line in the past 2 weeks. I know him well as i went to school with him and he has recently told me that he was measured at 194cm. Now that is taller than Cleve hughes, jay Schulz and even taller than his cousin Nick so all this junk saying he isnt tall enough for keep position is preciesly that "junk".
