Talk about a rough draw. The only one we have a sniff in would be West Coast, and they are playing some good footy lately at home. The one I'm most afraid of though is the Saints. Kosi should be back for that game, and provided there is no torrential QLD downpour, I feel we will be in big trouble.

Queesn B'day the week after, no point subjecting Watts to anything less than that game. At least by playing Watts i would bump the crowd an extra 10k.

Am I insane thinking that we are a chance to beat the Bulldogs? I just feel we are a good chance for some reason.
Insane? - no. Drunk? - yes. :D

Other than the fact we have a good record against the Dogs, no, no chance.

Hawthorn is our best bet of those five IMO, but they are getting players back all the time so may be a lot better by the time we come around.

Bloody hell. Our fellow posters who want us to fail for priority picks would be happy with that draw. As silly as it sounds I am looking forward to the next 6 weeks. Bar West Coast which will be still tough over there, how much will our young blokes learn in those games. Fantastic opp to fast track the development of our list. Playing Geelong and Hawthorn et al would be like playing 15 games against Freo. Could be a long period in terms of results but think the upside of this period is significant

The AFL really needs to look at how they schedule games.

4 of those 5 finished were the top four last year. Surely they can conclude from that they will be strong again this year, and as a result, not subject the team that finished LAST to playing them all within 5 weeks.

And they throw a trip to West Coast in there too!

Drongos the lot of them.

I agree with you puckled on first thought but then again, maybe it's better to play them now and get them out of the way. I think our run home is much better this year then last year so, that's a good thing at least.

Hopefully we can get a bit of a run on in the last few rounds (maybe not saints rd 22) and build some momentum going into next season.

Round
18- Richmond MCG
19- North Etihad
20- Freo MCG
21- Carlton Etihad
22- St Kilda MCG

3 of 5 winable there you'd imagine. Depending on how Richmond are faring. But late wins in the season could do wonders for confidence going into the off season. Although reminder we still get to play West Coast and Port at home. Not all bleak this season.

Re: Our next 5 weeks

Yeah, Saint's are unlikley the way they are going atm but from now till then anything could happen. They could have a run of injuries for all we know. I think we can beat Richmond (again) and I can see us beating Freo and North. As for Carlton I think it's hard to say, sometimes they are better then other times. I think we could be a chance going into that game tbh though. So we could potentially win 4 (if not 5) of those last 5.

Edit: Considering by that stage we should have the likes of Watts, Jurrah and possibly others such as Blease...anything could happen :thumbsu:

Scrub his name off the list. 2010 is now the key for young Sammy.

Whelan did a lovely kick to Newton....now he has a shot on goal from about 10 metres out yet not a great angle. Lock in a banana behind.
