We/I got these players:

#3 Polak
#6 Sam Power
#22 Damon White

#3: Polak was the obvious choice, which ILW picked on my behalf after I asked him to.

#6: It was between Armstrong, Clarke and Power. Considering we have Kerr, I didn't think we needed another short midfielder. Clarke is a good midfielder but I went with Power in the hope that he plays half-back and frees up Wirrpunda. I originally didn't want Power, but his versatility to play half-back or midfield and the fact that he's tall tipped the scales his way.

#22: I was surprised Damon White was still available. So I didn't hasitate to pick him up.

Judd went at #5, Armstrong at #17. So we almost got Judd at #6 and Armstrong was almost available at #22. Problem is who to pick up at #38. PM suggestions to me or EKA.

Craig Glancy
East Perth

Need another midfielder. Any WC fan, post that if the phantom draft goes ahead. If he's gone, bugger if I know. St Kilda are the only one who can nab him so hopefully they go for a vic player.

I would be very happy if we could get away with the following drafting in the real thing:

#3 - Graham Polack
#6 - Sam Power
#22 - Damon White
#38 - Craig Glancy

The profiles off the AFL website:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Graham Polak
East Fremantle
16/6/84
192 cm
83 kg

Mobile and athletic player who is extremely strong overhead. Made senior debut this year and represented WA in AFL under 18 national titles and in the AIS/AFL Academy team that played Ireland.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sam Power
Oakleigh Charges
DOB unknown
187 cm
72 kg

Extremely skilful left-footed player who was a joint winner of the Larke Medal as best and fairest player at the 2001 AFL under 18 titles. An AIS/AFL Academy member in 2000. Brother of Luke (Brisbane).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damon White
Perth
16/8/83
192 cm
94 kg

Talented marking forward who represented WA at under 18 level in 2000, but was injured this year. Played senior football in the WAFL.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Craig Glancy
East Perth
16/5/83
181 cm
73 kg

High possession winner who reads the play well and uses the ball effectively. Played seniors in the WAFL in 2001 and won All-Australian under 18 honors representing WA.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That would be some very good drafting. We would get a highly regarded forward in Polak, a highly regarded defender in Power who could also play midfield, a promising young forward in White who might be better than other clubs think and Glancy to bolster our midfield. Glancy was also an All-Australian which is promising. So we would draft three local boys and 1 victorian. I know I would be stoked if we did this. Pity we can't use pick #54, could have used it on Aiden Parker.

I pm'd these names to d4e

Clancy Rudeforth
Claremont

Athletic and skilful player who made his senior debut this year and captained the WA under 18 team. Has good evasive ability

Jarrad Wright
Woodville/West Torrens
28/4/84
182

Reads the game well and has clean hands and neat disposal. Impressive for South Australia in the AFL under 18 titles in 2001.

I said go for clancy rudeforth, but from what you have said I guess we should go for Glancy first

I can't make it tonight as I'm going out with some friends to celebrate the end of our yr12 exams. So either Vis or EKA have to do rd3, otherwise we might miss out on our pick.

Craig Glancy is my recommendation for pick #38, Parker isn't particularly good, we already have Harding anyway. We don't need another hack.

Sam Power for me. Hey, they're both great young players but I reckon that Power sounds just that little bit better. I wouldn't be disappointed though if we did pick up Clarke.

Anyone reckon that we could get Aiden Parker onto the rookie list? Can you do that?

Party Hard daddy_4_eyes! Congrats on getting through your exams.

Vis, I'd go for Sam Power if he plays anything like his older brother. I've heard huge wraps about Xavier Clarke too, so either player would be a bonus.

I don't see any reason why we can't get Parker on our rookie list, proving he doesn't get picked up in the draft. It would of grouse if we could stick a few players on our rookie list now, so other clubs couldn't touch them (Eg. Armstrong, Lynch, Parker)

Well since I'm doing this thing tonight, when is it?

First pick I will go for Glancy. If he ain't there, I will do a quick search for any All-Australians or AIS/AFL academy players that haven't been picked up and pick them up.

cheers Vis

I can't make it, but it starts at 6.00pm our time
Also, that Clancy Rudeforth guy looks pretty good IF by some reason Saints pick Glancy, otherwise, go Glancy. Thats all the picks we can have right?
Hey Vis, i am guessing your exams are over, how'd they go?

Allright I guess, dont know yet.

I'm no longer looking at Glancy with the #38 unless the player I pm'd ilw for has been taken by the saints. He's the last player left that had both AIS/AFL academy and All-Australian credentials and might have slipped through the net.

I'll pm you his name if you empty your pm's.

Congratulations, you free-to-do-whatever-the-hell-I-want bastard :) Meanwhile I'm still stuck here behind this computer typing up the 24th page of Uni notes on Australian Constitutional Law  And after that, we start on Criminal Law and Procedure...

Ashley Watson
Bendigo Pioneers
26/3/84
181 cm
68 kg

Reads the play well and can find the ball. Had an excellent 2001 winning All-Australian honors at the AFL under 18 titles and playing in the AIS/AFL Academy team against Ireland.

Last player to have both All-Australian and AIS/AFL academy credentials.
