This is the best news i have heard in a while.

Our premiership window with Fev in our side was within 3 years NO MORE. Pretty tough to win one with the likes of St.Kilda, Hawthorn, and Geelong at the top of their games.

We have now invested in another KPF/B, got inside the 1st round of the draft and acquired Brock McLean (23y/o) hard nut inside midfielder with nearly 100 games of experience all for the cost of Fev and pick 27.

Looking at our side, with the imminent retirement of Stevens, our oldest player will be Scotland and/ or Houlihan.  . Our premiership window with this news today has extended by a 3-4 more years, and we will be able to sustain a longer period of success.

Swann, Icke, Sticks i cant thank you enough for what you have done. :thumbsu:

GO BLUES

You're on the money, Smurf :thumbsu:

Much better deal than the Bradshaw Richsta one

Yes a better deal than the Brisbane deal but pushes our chances back of winning a flag anytime soon.

Not sure which part of this statement is more incorrect.

agreed it pushes it back. Realistically I dont think our window opened (with Fev) till 2011, now prov 2012 or 2013 depending on if we can develop someone to kick goals for us.

On a positive while its slower to open, will be open longer imo

Good deal for the long term, disaster for the short term. We probably won't make the top eight next year, so all in all this has been a disaster for CFC of epic proportions. Brisbane, our main rivals in our first final in eight years is basically gifted our best forward. Why o why couldn't Carlton have called security or anything to get him out of Crown....this sucks big time.

Think about this for a second please, instead of going to Fev 805 of the time with 3 blokes around him, we now have Kreuzer, Waite, Walker, Yarran, Setanta & Henderson to go to. Each of them are capable of kicking at least 1 goal per game and there's your 80 + goals that Fev gave us.

With the amount of supply that Fev got, anyone could have kicked 80+ goals per game. WE were dis-functional with Fev. It was hurting our progression, and now we will have a multi pronged attack that will make opposition team more concerned with what we put out on the park. Instead of stop Fev and you have Carlton covered, its now who do we stop.

WE WIN, OUR PREMIERSHIP WINDOW JUST GOT WIDER BY ANOTHER 3-5 YEARS

carlton's premiership " window " just 1/2 opened. with fevola gone your midfield can be way more aggressive than normal.

kruezer/henderson/cloke can easily replace fev, infact carlton fans will be pleasantly suprised next year.

Yep, I'm excited by this, to be honest.

I think it feels as though there's less pressure from the "it has to happen now whilst Fev is in his prime" direction, and now you look at our squad and it just has a mountain of young, yet-to-peak talent in it.

I cannot believe we can't forge a quality forward line (in a year or two) out of Kreuzer, Waite, Yarran, Betts, Henderson and others. It's not there yet, but let's give it a game or two. ;)
