Balchelor
Buckland

Sheringham
Pre season we looked like having the best group of rookies going around.

3 off the 4 are first year Rookies , dont expect too much. Rookies are long shots when you think about it. All 16 clubs have passed on them for what ever reason so to expect them to be immediate guns in the V's when guys drafted in the main draft are struggling, is really premature

Sheringham has been the best from what ive seen at the moment. Buckland will probably be promoted at the end of the year id imagine. A long shot wouldbe Garth. Big body not sure if he has the skills though(?)

All four have shown talent.

* Luke Buckland is a young Darren Milburn all over, just needs a bit of polish.
* Jarrod Garth has great hands and has proven capable of kicking multiple goals.
* Nick Batchelor is extremely courageous and can win the footy, way too light right now.
* Tim Sheringham is limited but looks smooth, reads the play well and wins a lot of it.

If i had to guess, i'd say Batchelor and Buckland are most likely to make it to AFL level.

Sheringham is the only chance.

You cannot be serious? Batchelor plays like a girl, is a bit of a sheep dog and of the 4 I'd have him least likely to make the grade.

You can see in all why they didnt get picked in the main draft:

Garth - to short wayward kick for goal.

Buckland - Hadnt played enough pretty light.

Sheringham - too small

Batchelor - too light, too soft.

I've seen him put his head over the footy more times in a few VFL practice games then i've seen the real sheepdog do it in 8 years.

Have to agree with Phat. Although Batchelor is an outside wingman type this does not mean he isn't courageous.
I've seen him hurt twice this year after reckless acts of courage.

You should've been watching a few games of late, hasnt been pretty.

The kids arent pick 1s, give them time to develop and we will see. They have also only played 6 or so games at a higher level. Give them time to settle.

Not being harsh, just being realistic. They were pickded in the rookie draft for a reason: they have defficencies in their games that not only make them less attractive to draft than others but also give them less chance to succeed at AFL level.
