In 2007, Cousins will be turning 29, Michael Gardiner 28.

Cousins was born in 1978 - remember he did debut in 1996, a 17 year old on his debut.

Gardiner was born in 1979.

Phil Matera will be turning 32 (still going?..), Braun - 29 and Wirra, Fletch, Jones and Kasey "I won't be an Eagle in 2007" Green will all be turning 28.

I think the majority of this team will be turned over by 2007 anyway, we don't have a flag winning group this era.

i think your quite wrong about that

Wrong with my age stats or wrong with the no flag prediction?

Age stats are correct.

As far as the flag goes, I think the players aren't good enough, probably never will be - you need to be very, very good to win a flag, not inconsistent and flashy - but hey, I'm always willing to be proven wrong..

Why? We have more than enough match winners in the team, and the young KPP coming through are certainly encouraging. Only thing holding us back is the slow development of our talls, but with talent such as Seaby, McDougall, Johnson and Staker all still VERY young and Cox, Glass, Lynch, Gardiner and Gaspar all in our best 22 when fit, and we have decent talls.

On paper, we have a very talented team. We're probably a couple of years away from having a solid spine, at which point our powerful midfield will be just about at their peak. I'm very optimistic about the long term future, and quite positive that the long term holds more wins than losses.
