Wouldn't it be even more of a wasted year if that happened to St.Kilda though? I heard Gerard Healy on Thursday's Sports Today say that he thinks St.Kilda will go out in straight sets. There is no doubt that Adelaide are on fire and their scoring options are many, and they look strong all over the ground.

It's up to Collingwood to avoid playing them next week though. If Collingwood beats St.Kilda, then Collingwood cannot meet Adelaide until the Grand Final if both teams keep winning, and things can change in that period of time and it would be three successive trips to Melbourne for the Crows by then.

We rarely get beaten easily by Adelaide and lets not get tooooo excited about the win. Don't get me wrong, they are flying but we will be a fair bit harder to beat than an 8th placed Essendon that limped into the finals and had injuries and suspensions that shut out any hope of a win before the ball was even bounced. And it was played in Adelaide.

One win this week or next and I think we will be very well placed to make the GF. Next weeks game for the loser is the toughest of all I think, possibly even the GF.

Wouldn't surprise me if the loser of tomorrow's Saints v Pies game goes out in straight sets.

Having seen the Crows last week SMASH the blues and again last night the Bombers it seems they're absolutely flying. It's not just their forward line, guys like McLoed & Goodwin are flying, their runners are all big solid boys with great skills who at the moment are super confident. And they've got a pretty reasonable backline, also. Thing about the Crows is that they're all big boys who go in VERY hard

Wouldn't have said this 6 -7 weeks ago when it all seemed Saints & Cats who are both struggling a bit now. You Pies have been great in the 2nd half of the season but you looked pretty tired in the last quarter against the Dogs

At this stage I'd say the form sides are Adelaide closely following by the Dogs (if only the Dogs had a forward line ...) followed by (in no particular order) the Saints, Pies & the Cats.

Problem for the Crows is trying to win it from 5th, but they are in great form ...

Please who have they beaten in the last three weeks to get this status West Coast, Carlton, Essendon. West coast is a bottom 8 side, I don't rate Carlton, Essendon were very undermanned and young while they did beat all these teams in emphatic style. I don't think we should be 'worried' about them the IF we lose to the saints tomorrow we have a lot of reasons to be confident against the crows.
1.We have a pretty good record against them
2.Only two teams have gone out in straight sets in the new system a severely undermanned west coast against us in 2007 and port:rolleyes: in 2001 against the hawks
3.It'll be played at the G
4. We have a very good team too

I sat on the couch last night shaking watching those crows. Bloody impressive stuff with players kicking goals everywere and moving the ball so easily. 27 goals last night and 26 goals the week before and now i hear they will get Bock and Van Berlo back next week. God help us if we lose tomoorow.

Got Adelaide covered.. don't go by a thrashing of a depleted Essendon on home territory

Meh, they beat a VFL side on their home ground, who cares, wasn't that impressive, they merely did what any good side would have done against that woeful side that Essendon put out there.

For 2 weeks now, Adelaide havent had an opposition, when they roll up next Saturday night, for 120 minutes either Collingwood or Stkilda will literally bash them up, throwing everything they possibly can at them.

Adelaide are over rated, even Craig said they haven't beaten anyone since round 1, when they beat us.

Straight sets? How can you say that, we are going to win tomorrow, and by my recollection that means we get a week off, play in a preliminary final at the G on a Friday Night, and become 1 of the 2 premiership favourites.

Bring em on, we will win this week, and if not, if we will beat Adelaide no problems.:)

.................
Yes it may be that a lot of our youngsters are suddenly running on empty - might be essential to beat the Aints and get the week off. go Rocca! I think he's the key this week.

Surely Craig is the best coach in the league, brought the Crows up from nowhere.

The top 4 teams are clearly better than 5-8. We proved this when we beat them on their home turf... That wasn't that long ago... I know for a fact the team they would not like to play is the Pies!

Ok so we lost to the dogs. Soft performance (we didn't wanna get hurt) with what I would consider a vastly different game plan. Typical round 22 Collingwood performance of late. But to say we will go out in straight sets based on Adelaide beating Essendon is laughable. First of all we will take the saints down in my opinion. If we didn't what reason do we have to fear the crows?...we smash them in finals and big games time and time again. We are not a half rat power essendon team and this is not round 22. At the G in front of 90,000 against the crows....I know I'd be confident. Damn confident.

I am afraid that this also applies to our team.

I am not overly confident about tomorrow. You guys are slightly underrated in Bigfooty (not that it matters). The inclusion of Rocca is not that bad of a move either.

Good luck, Saints by 9 points. :)

Collingwood vs Adelaide Prelim Final 2002. That game was the loudest game I have ever been to. The noise by our fans was amazing and it would happen again if we had to play them. It would be a big advantage playing in front of that crowd, nearly all Collingwood supporters.

Obviously we would still need to be better than them, but I think we are.

But, who says we are going to lose tomorrow?

This is why it's oh so important to win this weekend. We have the double chance, but I don't think it'll mean much if we lose and come up against Adelaide, I watched their game against Carlton and they have been terrifying.

On the flip side if we win and St Kilda has to play them, that'd be absolutely fantastic.

Come on Pies! This is it, lets do this thing!

I have a very, very good feeling we will win tomorrow. Round 22 isn't a good indicator of where we are at. They looked like they didn't want to get injured, it happened in 2007 and 2008 as well. Don't you worry, tomorrow we will throw everything we have at the Saints, and the players won't worry about injuries because we will have a week off.

GO PIES!!!

There is a lot of talk about the travel factor for the Crows.

I thought I would remind you all that the Crows will probably be the only team ever in the history of the AFL to play 5 consecutive away games in 98 and win the flag. (WA,VIC,NSW,VIC,VIC)

Ironically they rolled the Roos after half time in that match.

My concern is that the Pies if they lose on Sunday will have a packed to the rafters MCG match against the Crows, my hope is that the Pies will be exhausted playing the Crows after only 5 full days of rest in between.

A bit of common sense would've been nice. Brisbane v Carlton on Friday night, and Adelaide v Essendon on Saturday night.

The higher placed side shouldn't be so disadvantaged.

Anyhow, if we were to get done I think a hard game at the MCG on Sunday will have the bodies accustom to the hard style of finals footy.

Luckily plenty of players on our list have played this year and we can make a few changes to bring some fresher legs in if needed.

As good as Adelaide's 96 point win was, it was a bit of a white wash and not much of a true finals hit out.

They'll find it a lot harder against the pies or saints.

We beat the Cows pretty easily on their home turf, and should have beat then R1 bar for the most ******ed dropping the ball non-decision to Edwards I have ever seen.

If we have to play them, then we'll beat them, short break or not.

I'd be pretty confident against Collingwood, I thought last time they played the Crows were the better team just didn't take their oppurtunities dominated inside 50's and were missing a couple of very important players, Bring on the Loser. Should be a great game vs whoever at the G next Saturday night.

We'll be right, gang. The way the Dogs were celebrating the chance to play Geelong says they hold more fear of the Saints than we do - otherwise we'd certainly have tried much harder to put through that valuable point. Everyone who I've spoken to that was at the game, Dog and Pie fans alike, agree both teams were just trying to get through the game in one piece but when it was up for grabs, the Dogs wanted it more. Let them take Geelong, we have no fear of either and rightly so :) And while Zac kept Rocca quiet last time they played, with the midfield delivery Tony faced in round 7, I could have kept Rocca quiet. It's almost a completely different team the Saints will be facing and they'll do well to show us a bit of respect :) Sure we lost to both Geelong and the Saints but we know what they have to offer as they haven't had to change all that much - to them we're the unknown quantity. And the Crows? Mem, ambulance chasers and flat-track bullies. Essendon limped into a final away from home - the Crows only did what they were expected to do. We'll be right :)

Let's think about this mathematically, say we are a 40% chance against the Saints and 50% against Adelaide. The chances of losing both is only 30%, I like those odds.

The thing you guys arn't realising is we are an improved side to earlier in the season, yes it was only Essendon who we beat but we also beat Carlton by 70 points who are no walk over.
I beleive our only weakness is the ruck, which we are improving each week with the likes of sellar and maric getting better.
We still have Bock and VanBerlo to come back in who are in our top 22.
We have a young fit side who i beleive can take us a fair way.. Travel is no big deal for us as we have a good away record.
