Judging on how far Wii was when I jumped off I imagine that I'm in the last hour of the game.

I'm up to the point where you have to turn on the water system to put out the fire, which I think is the same bit as Cory

You have a little bit to go. It could take you more than an hour.

when this bloke is chasing you, game over

Well just did the part where
some fat thing grabs me and throws me to the next floor. Saved and quit whilst watching the movie staring blood. Looked a good movie.

Party chat the first night was funny. People trying to coordinate who went first to open doors or walk around corners. Wii also joined later on, obviously too busy IRL for us.

Anyone else noticing frame rate issues? Also Outlast has been trying to load area of map for 5 minutes now.

Just finished it then, eventually it didn't manage to reach the scary heights that Amnesia did, but it was still a pretty damn good horror game for what it was.

The opening sequences will still sit as some of the scariest in gaming, unfortunately the quality dipped the longer it went and the repetition to the mission design left a lot to be desired.

I think they could've opted to do more with the night vision mechanic, as not only did it look visually awesome in-game but the lightbar lighting up was a cool little touch too, it just felt like too often the dark parts of the game that needed night vision didn't really come with anything too scary. The section where
you go outside and have to basically solely use the night vision the entire time was a HUGE miss for scares, there was so much that could've been done there but it all amounted to nothing. That was the biggest disappointment of the game for me.
The sound design was superb, from the music to the breathing in tense situations, really added a lot to the tension.

Overall not a bad game, but could've been improved.

So your saying there is no scares in this part?

Brother has been playing 20 minutes. Already past me. In one go. I've taken like 5 goes to get to where he was 10 mins ago.

I agree almost completely with this.

The second the monsters are 'revealed', if you like (ie. you start seeing them roam around and have to sneak past), the game mostly stops being scary and becomes more eery and atmospheric. It's a fun game to play (especially with a mate who's shitting himself) but for me the scares weren't as persistent as I expected.

So I finally got around to downloading this on Sat night. As it was downloading i was thinking "how the F is everybody getting scared playing a game, they must all be pussies!!!" So i then started playing, shat myself within 5 minutes and dont want to play anymore as i know something scary is about to happen to me in my current spot in the game..

I also tend to agree with this.

It has plenty of intense moments, though.

Just reached the part where the dude chops your fingers off. That was intense. As a big fan of horror I am loving this game so far.
