Before the 2024 GF went down to have coffee at a local Cafe used to be owned by SOS.The daughter of the owner about 10 or 12 was wearing a No19 Fitzroy jumper and I commented to the owner. She said they were Carlton supporters but David McMahon was her dad and that the jumper her daughter was wearing was one of David's actual jumpers. This was interesting as it was not loose on her but tight and she looked pretty normal for her age.Great little intro to the match.

Did anyone else get the chance as a kid to wear their kit to the ground then run around at the start with the player who's number you had?I had 19 Ron Harvey and running with him was not easy.I think the league stopped it as it was getting out of hand.Richmond had about 100 mascots lined up for each home game.

Tuesday afternoons for Mrs. Boffey's grade at Preston West Primary meant a visit to the school hall to watch the educational shows on the ABC; except for this day when programming was interrupted by some hoo-har going on in Canberra which none of us kids understood.

Huge day is Australian politics for sure. Hard to believe that the GG went through with it.

A friend of mine just sent me this. He was sent to cover a Fitzroy intra-club practice match in the late 80’s.

I think that’s Graham Osborne on the ground and Phil Knight is in the middle of the three guys at the back. Thoughts? Can anyone name the other two?
