Had I? Perhaps you're only capable of reading what you want to see, not what is actually written.
Moomba, I expect you are a decent enough bloke, however one thing you have not yet mastered is how to have a balanced and unbiased opinion. I suspect you have the intelligence and maturity to have one, but time and time again you fail to to demonstrate this when you post about City (which I should imagine is at least 99% of the time)

Like I said, you read what you want to read and ignore what you don't want to read. That way you don't actually have to have an opinion, you just regurgitate what you read in the redtops.

My opinion hasn't changed. I judge people on what they do, not where they were born. That was the case before we had foreign owners. So I'm not sure how you think I'm expressing any bias.

xenophobia
zɛnəˈfəʊbɪə/
noun
  1. dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries.
"racism and xenophobia are steadily growing in Europe"
synonyms: racism, racialism, racial hatred, ethnocentrism, ethnocentricity; More

A dictionary escapes you

No I know what it means. It was you who used it incorrectly and in no kind of logical context.

Let me explain it to you so you can be gosh darn smarter. I don't dislike them for their nationality, I dislike them for the adverse affect they have had on the English game as a whole.

See it would be no different to someone saying "with the Chinese entering the Australian housing market it has had an adverse affect on the housing prices for local buyers as it has driven the market prices up".

I mean only morons would claim that statment to be xenophobic wouldn't they?

Lol leaving me aside, everyone here thinks you are pretty irrational when you are on the defensive with City. It's not just me the whole board sees it.

Agent Ashley is well known to be a big Spurs fan.

That was always my understanding too.

Though I did see this recently on the Mag...probably bs (I suspect it is because if Ashley was a fan, he wouldn't have sucked the soul out of the club he supposedly supports).

Now for the story you won’t believe. This Dave and I were agreeing that MA appeared to have no regard for the fan base at NUFC, and no ambition beyond mediocrity for the club.

I remarked that it didn’t help to know he was a Tottenham fan. To which Dave responded “Oh no – he supports Newcastle”. I can’t remember if I dropped my beer or my burger first, but the look on my face…

He was interested to find out why I thought he was a Spurs fan.

I said that most of Tyneside were under the impression he was best pals with Daniel Levy and that he followed his team. Dave said MA wore a Toon shirt when he was a kid and was known as a Newcastle fan by his then schoolmates. He certainly didn’t show any allegiance towards Tottenham when he was young.

Dave hadn’t seen MA in ages, so accepted that he might have drifted away in the intervening years. But there is a real possibility that Mike Ashley is messing up a club that he used to care about. That makes it worse. If he didn’t like us, at least his behaviour would make some weird kind of sense.

The thing is, I believed this guy. He was educated, quietly spoken, and didn’t exhibit the usual marks of a liar – low self esteem, a need to make himself look impressive and so on.

He didn’t push hard to convince me that Ashley is a fan of the black & whites rather than the lilywhites. He just told me that as far as he was concerned that was the case.

The other stories were too well constructed and random to make me think they were made up, so I have no reason to believe he’d make up the last one. I pass it on out of interest only…

P.S You're welcome to have Ashley at Spurs if you want! :p

I'm comfortable with the opinions I've posted on the board. I'm also comfortable those opinions are based on what I believe is right and wrong, not whether it benefits the club or not. Also pretty happy that my thoughts on the game and how it should be run haven't changed from when we had no money to now.

If any poster, or the entire board thinks otherwise I genuinely couldn't care less.

Yup.

And they went broke spending too much trying to be relevant. Trying to compete and remain relevant with foreigners with deeper pockets than any local owners can match.

A better quality product is the end game, so as far as I can see the end justifies the means.

What would you rather, a domestic league with even more English spuds than there are running around now? That'd be awful.

I see a very boring league. One of the most boring sporting leagues in the world where ony a few elite teams ever win the title.

I don't call that a quality product.

An even competition doesn't always mean good. Imagine a season in League Two where every game was a 2-2 draw. It's still League Two, hence not worth watching.

or he/she is an extremely angry unit

Nope, thats you reading your emotions into words on a screen.

I've been watching English footbball since the late 70's. The top flight of English football has become boring as all **** compared to those times. Just sayin.

Funny how English teams had many dominant eras in Europe when there wasn't any foreigners playing

So true. The premier league is a complete cartel now. It's a closed shop. Unless you get an oil Barron you can't break into the top 4.

I don't need to imagine it, i've followed very exciting league 2 seasons. Actually it was division 4 back then.

Your statement highlights the Man U elitist EPL bubble you live in.

The standard of play has increased significantly. if you find the top 6 rarely changing as boring, it's hard to disagree with you.

The standard of every sport in the world has improved since those times.

Saying that play in the EPL has improved doesn't elevate it above any other sport in that context.

Do you watch local footy too? Watching anything below AFL is a complete waste of time.

I didn't say the epl was better than any other sport in that context.

Well given my avatar is a local football club i'll go with yes. I have 30 years of blood sweat and tears invested in the club.

That's kind of how English football clubs used to work too, local people support their local club.

Now with the wave of plastic glory hunting fans that permeate the English football fan scene the game is all the poorer for it.
