Do you like oysters? If so how do you like them?

Anyone come across weird ways that oysters have been presented? For instance in Sydney my oysters kilpatrick were served to me with chocolate

Perhaps the most disgusting 'food' on earth. Whenever I try eat them I can barely stop myself from gagging.

I really can't understand how people can stomach them. I reckon I could be starving to death on a desert island and I'd still struggle to keep them down.

Oyster shots (with vodka) are certainly interesting.

But my favourite was once with a Blue Cheese type of sauce, was beautiful.

Like Kilpatrick as well. Great with a good beer.

If there's enough flavour so I can't taste the oyster then it's just bearable. But as soon as I taste the oyster hiding underneath it makes me feel queasy. I'd rather just drink the worcestershire sauce straight out of the bottle.

But then I don't really like much seafood at all. Prawns are about the only seafood I'll willingly eat.

Kil Patrickks are the shizzzzzz, im a big fan for seafood, fish, crab, scallops, oysters ill have em all!

Love my seafood. Pretty much anything. Only thing I dont like is Octopus. Fish, squid, prawns, scallops, clams, cockles, bugs, lobster, crabs, mussels oysters...all good.

I like Oysters. Dont love them, but I like them. I think raw oysters are an acquired taste, but I enjoy them. Kilpatrick is nice. Tempura is also good.

Oyster served in a large shotglass filled with Vodka. No chewing or biting just slides down the throat. As I said interesting way to have it, probably prefer the original way to eat them.........with small cutlery or hands.

If I have natural oysters I like to have rock oysters as they are smaller & have a nice clean taste but for Kilpatric the Pacific oyster is better as they are bigger & more meaty.

Mornay are also good.

Mussells > Oysters.

But love Oysters Kilpatrick all the same.

My fav seafood (in order) would be: Mussells (straight off the boat to the BBQ), Lobster/ crab, Scallops, Prawns, Oysters, Octypus, Fish.

Dam, you've made me bloody hungry now OP, thanks alot!!!! :p

I was disgusted by the look and smell of oysters until about 8 months ago, then i bit the bullet and tried one and am now hooked for life

Strange, octupus and squid are damn near identical...

As for the poll, not a massive fan of kilpatrick. Natural, or with any tart sauce is good.

I find Squid to be a lot more tender than Octopus. Every time ive eaten octopus its been tough, chewy and tasteless.

You have just combined the two most disgusting falvors on earth. Just thinking about it has ruined my day.

Agreed. Also scallops are pretty good too and bugs.

All the rest of the seafood family you can keep.

Lol, I made spaghetti marinara a month or so ago (so buying a little bit of this- little bit of that) and the mussells were by far the cheapest (and best) thing. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Crayfish is defintely a "treat". I usually just buy half a lobster at the fish shop when I'm in Apollo Bay- which is not often. ;)

Oyster - love em!! :thumbsu:Natural with a squeeze of lemon just thrown down the throat - ahhhh blisss. Also don't mind them natural dunked in seafood cocktail sauce or mornay or kilpatrick but natural is my favourite. 2 doz don't hit the sides.

If you can throw them in the mouth and slide them up and down the back of your tongue - Great stuff :thumbsu:

Yeah that's all well and good Gabbie, but stick to the topic, we are talking about oysters. :D
