As far as I can see, the guys playing in the A game are in a no-win situation.
If one of them gets a big score, the selectors aren't going to give too much currency to it given that none of the English test bowlers are going to be playing.

It's going to be an attack of Bresnan,Tremlett, Monty and I guess Collingwood.

Renders the whole thing even more of a farce.
