Right, so it comes down to type of player. How many do we have on our list that are or will become similar to Zantuck? and same question for Cloke.
I suspect the decision in the end was that Zantuck has burnt bridges at two clubs, and we have a number of guys lining up for this position, whereas Cloke was delisted, not for off-field dramas, but for lack of footy ability (bear with me.......)

They have taken a punt to say that Cloke will be better able to improve his ability, as rucks often develop later, than Zantuck will be able to improve his attitude.

Do we forget (Denis) that Sheedy was also very impressed with Zantucks desire to play, to change his ways, and that he would add a robust style of play etc.......only to crap all over them when he got the chance.

Cloke doesn't have to change his personality, just keep trying harder to become a better footballer.

They don't need us to give them a free pass to have a go at us. Everyone at our club just needs to be very careful about what we say in a public forum. Or even at board level it seems

Smorgon should never have used the term that to his recollection the decision never went to the board. That is a stupid political term generally used to deflect blame and never believed by the press. I'm not saying he was part of the decision making process, I'm just saying it was a poor choice of words

Pagan in the current environment should not have been using "they" to describe who was behind the veto. Given that we are under the pump from the press any type of ambiguity is going to hurt us. I'm not saying that is fair, just the unfortunate reality of our situation. The press love to kick a club when it is down

Both Smorgon and Pagan(more so Pagan) were naive in what they said. Frankly a dead bat would have been better, but their choice of words, if they had to comment, did not help. Both of them were better in their second statements, but it was too late as the spin was already up and running

It would be perhaps wishful thinking to think that the powers that be at our great club have a great working relationship, but they have at least been trying to present a united front
