Partial lockout questions

Can someone please explain to me how the Round 1 lockout works with picking the team?

How many do we get to change and when do we get to change it?

After thursday nights clash, you cannot change richmond and carlton players in or out of your team. This is the partial lockout. But you can change every other teams players in and out, until friday nights clash starts. Then it's full lockout.

during the partial lockout, will we be able to still make unlimited trades, or do our teams need to be finalized before the richmond game?

Unlimited trades except that your Carlton/Richmond players are locked in.

And you won't be allowed to bring in any Carlton/Richmond players either.

I have forgotten how the teams work. Teams get released on Thursday night? Then do the Sunday games get confirmed on Friday or Saturday??

Would have been nice if they allowed an extended partial lockout in relation to Gold Coast players as well to Rd2 team announced.

Suppose that is part of the fun/complexity this year in picking the right GC rookies that will be playing early - most likely starters are quite evident now.

At the moment I have GC rookies:

Backs: Toy, Stanley
Mids: Swallow, Harris, Iles (may change to I Smith or Bennell)
Ruck: Z Smith
Forwards: Matera, Dixon, Prestia (may change to Sumner or Darling)

Lock your Richmond, Carlton players in, then do the rest of the teams on Friday

What is the situation with emergencies ?? Are they fixed on Friday - so you can wait to see how tonights match pans out ??

If you pick a carl/rich player as an emergency, you cannot deselect them post game. Similarly, you cannot make a carl/rich player an emergency if you haven't done so prior to lockout tonight

Partial Lock Out Exploitation

Gents,

Just wanted to confirm is the captain and substitute partial lock out tricks still work. Basically what I am planning to do is the following:

Captain - Set Gibbs as my VC and Swan as my Captain with Harris on the ground and Bewick as the emergancy to cover Harris. If Gibbs scores 120+, I move the captaincy from Swan to Harris, getting the double points for Gibbs.

Subsitutes - Place Stanley on the field and set Duigan to an emergance. If I am happy with Duigan's score, leave Stanley's zero on the field, getting Duigan's score. If I think Lower can beat Duigan's score, swap Stanley for Lower.

Do both of these exploits still work this year?

Just trade out the captain you have selected if Gibbs chops it and then trade him back in.

Yeah, you can change your captains as long as they aren't Richmond or Carlton players.

Yes, just keep the VC on Gibbs and then consider using it after the match.

I have Judd as VC and not chosen a captain yet. If Judd rips it up I will leave it that way. If he has a crud day then Ill whack the C on Swan.

Yes. You needed to have him as an emergency.

Archiemoses, i tried your logic and it didn't seem to work. I'm in the same boat as abers. Will it work if i deselect Swan as captain and select a non scoring player (harris, swallow)?
