Tim Houlihan Basic Stats
Code:
Number: 19
Height: 189cm
Weight: 83kg
DOB: 10-02-1989
Debut: 2008
Games: 15
Goals: 1

Start SarcasmTim was delisted at the end of 2010 after 4 seasons, but the Eagles soon realised the serious mistake that they had made and re-drafted him as a rookie for 2011. End Sarcasm

2010 Bio (From Eagles Website)
After breaking through for eight games in 2008, Houlihan was forced to wait for his opportunity last year, finally earning selection for the Eagles in round 16 after outstanding form in the WAFL. Played the last seven games, averaging almost 23 disposals, and with his enormous running capacity, shapes as an exciting prospect on the wing. Suffered a pre-season setback with he sliced a tendon in his foot while on his Christmas break and will have a delayed start to the year.

Should be in for a top year in 2011!

lol, The plan all along was to delist him and redraft him as a rookie to free up a list spot.

Re: #19 Tim Houlihan

Think I read somewhre that he is back training and is covering the ground well and has no signs of his foot injury?
Can anyone confirm how he is going training wise?

Might be a good Supercoach player. :thumbsu::D

Re: #19 Tim Houlihan

Re: #19 Tim Houlihan

DTF, he will be a good player for the sharks this year. Just doesnt have the skills for AFL level IMO. If you are kicking helicopters under little pressure during scratch matches you have a real problem

Re: #19 Tim Houlihan

Saw him kick ass in 2009.
had more impact in the last 6 games than anybody else.

Anyway looks like he's over his foot or whatever injury and has had a good preseason

Cheers jackaaa:thumbsu:
I hope he makes it.

Tell him to handball more. Surely his kicking is better than ASelwood????

About on par. Reports were saying he had changed his kicking style but from what I saw he still has a awkward, high ball drop. Great athlete, but just not a natural footballer. He will find it hard to find it back into the side although he will still rack up good numbers in the WAFL as will Dalziell.

Natural footballers? How do you guage that.

David Parkin after his first game Said he liked Houlihan because he had a "football brain".
Now this was in 2008 and it really stuck in my mind because I rate David Parkin and for him to say this about a kid after his first game (which we won by the way) stuck in my mind.

His games in 2009 reinforced my view albeit a little biased that he just has a football brain and is so comfortable out there.

His handballs are sublime and alot of times do not get called by the commentators.

His kicking well once they left him alone came good. You will actually find that they travel quite low and quickly.( granted not the greatest but get past his action and you will see its quite effective.

He"s a player Ive thought of followed from the start and really rate.
I respect others opinion on him because Ive written off other players myself without really watching them.

Im not a big fan of Scooter and Im sure alot of people would disagree that.

Anyway I just hope he gets another go because he's just doesnt panic out there. Some people ,the game plays out slowly and i think hes one of them.

I rekon Butler has got it as well

Go Timmy Houlihan

To say someone is not a natural footballer is not a slight on them, they just have to work harder at it. When I think natural footballers I think of Rob Harvey, Dean Kemp, James Hird etc. Someone with an understanding of the game, who play on instinct, are skilled, can read the play better than most and are not solely dependant on their athletic abilities.

Each to their own however and everyone has their favourite players.

Re: #19 Tim Houlihan

Did I mention also that he can run really really fast.
