Flat, inept, disgraceful, unwilling, pathetic, abysmal, shameful, pitiful. Do I need go on? That describes MFC yesterday.

They really do know how to stuff things up. An outside chance for Top 4, a big chance to hold on to 5th spot. Now we have to try and win next week, and that's no certainty.
Finish 5th, and we are unlikely to have to travel interstate. Finish 6th or 7th, and now we will be rewarded with the possibilty of two interstate trips in a row.

A big sledge to the forward line. Neita is entitled to have a bad day, so where are the others to step up. Robbo tried, but where was Vardy, Green and others? I don't blame the backline. They are depleted and it showed. But the other forwards have to take some responsibilty:mad:

By far the worst performance for the year. I was not impressed:mad:

Swans looked good. But I was so disgusted with Melbourne to take much notice. Also, the umpiring was awful, but it was in Melbourne's favour. Swans got very little and we still got flogged!

one of the main probs where they weren't sticking on there men... there was sydney players with no one on them... it was just stupid... one bloody PATHETIC performance melboune!!! not happy!

hrm... true... but heres how it'll plan out... firt match will be played here no matter what (geelong, roos and essendon ALL in victoria) and if they decide to play that day and therefor win - we'll most likely play either adelaide or collingwood where we have a 50% chance of STILL playing here. if IF but only IF we can win that week, we'll then probs go on and play interstate for that one week of the prelims. probs end up losing but on the very odd chance that we win, we'd play the granny here.

but now back to yesterdays game... geez... i think there were a million more words than you could have added to that first line. i coulnt believe how shocking they played. especially knowing how much the games result meant. but hey, all teams have bad days. im not making excuses for them AT ALL but on the bright side - we've still got next week!

this is my 700th post!!! yay! :D
Lets hope so!
I'll start a changes thread later in the week, as I'm sure it will create plenty of discussion.

And congrats on that 700 post thing, not too far away from 4 figures.

i think we need to take the same attitude as the club has said they are taking. yes it was a very poor game that we should of won. there is alot of things we can dwell on but its not going to change anything, we just need to focus on next week, get our 12th win on the board and head into the finals confident of causing some surprises.

HEAR,HEAR!!!

The Swans were great, but we never ever looked like it. We can't whinge about injuries either, because even with Nicho,Ellis & Broady available last time around Hall still killed us single-handedly! We missed the start yet again & we've had a hiding coming for a while because of our poor starts.

The umps tried to keep us in it but never looked like capitalizing on their generosity. We were also hurt badly by their freakish kicking for goal, they never looked like missing! Our forwards refused to play in front, too busy going for hangers to make hard leads.

This loss & the loss to Richmond really undermine our 2 great wins at the Gabba & Subi :( Very disappointing!

It was the first time in a VERY long time that I turned off a Melbourne game at half time and refused to turn it back on. I was so utterly disgusted at our performance that it made me sick. I got the score much late that night and thought we were lucky - we could have been beaten by much more than that.

Here's a few pointers.

1 - Whelan on O'Loughlin was STUPID coaching. We should have had Bruce on the guy right from the start. No doubting Wreckers ablility but he is not the player to go with the guy. And we made the change well after the damage was done.

2 - We have OTHER forwards than our captain. Everytime we go to him, and Sydney knew this and exploited it. Do you think we were smart enough to realise it? Of course bloody not! BUT he was not helped by Robbo, Green, Vardy etc not trying to take their players elsewhere to give him room.

3 - MAN THE **** UP YOU USELESS, LAZY BASTARDS!!!!

4 - Lamb was out of his depth. The guy has been great, but thrusting him into the deep end after last weeks neck injury was suicide, and we all know what happened. We should have tried Wheatley or Bruce or even a bloody Robertson on him to curb his influence. Just something! What did Danners do? He played silly football as he tends to do all too often....

There are more, but really, need we say more? We will know how we react come Saturday night!

I guess we can call it even seeing as though I left at half time:eek:

It was eaiser doing what I did though. I just have to turn off the TV and the massacre is all gone. You were actually there! You actually have to get up and walk away - alot harder IMO!

The decision to walk away was quite easy actually!

Hmmm, I wouldn't like to admit that myself, but anyway....

I would find it very hard to leave a game early, even if we were 20 goals down! The opposition supporters will give you heaps and I want to see us out the end.

But I suppose it's easier over in the MCC members!

Yes, any hint of a loss and we head out the door:rolleyes:
I'm sure there were just as many in the red seats that left the game early.:o

actually i was surprised the amount of people in the red seats that actually stayed there. when i turned around i was expecting most to be gone but it was still just as full as half time!

I mean you can leave and be much more safe from opposition heckling!

And I'm sure MANY would have left the game early, and frankly, I don't blame them!
