Paul Haselby on the trade table

Hasleby is 27, recent knee injury, and is pretty slow. Giving him one year makes alot of sense.

According to Tim Gossage of 10 news from tonight, he WILL re-sign on a 1 year deal with Freo.

Must have been a rude shock when his manager shopped him around and no one wanted him.

Am surprised he isn't getting a lucas type deal - play x games and you get a second season.

Why? The same happened when he tried it 2 years ago. He's now 2 years older in a competition that is obsessed with youth and he's had a knee reconstruction. Do you think Fremantle didn't do their homework?

It sounded like the deal was something like this (games and a few other KPI's) and they were going to pay him better money the first year than what he wanted for his 2 year deal (per year).

There must have been some pretty quick meetings if he was to catch up with 4 clubs!

I don't know why I bother explaining myself to a troll, but anyhow I shall attempt to, even if I readily admit to being obviously far less experienced in bending over than yourself...

Fremantle wanted two high picks for Warnock, instead we held them over a barrel, and exchanged for 24 and 72 and trading down 56 to 69 (and given that by all reports, we would have picked Robinson at 24 anyway, was essentially Warnock for 24 and loose change.)

Despite all the posturing from Chris Bond, that was the end result, and I'd be filthy too.

Yep we are filthy ....hopefully Suban can bounce back from his sub-par season, I mean whilst his stats are impressive they are probably not as good as Warnocks. Could you help me find them as I was having trouble locating them?

Seriously you don't judge how trades went by going on the difference bewteen the starting and finishing trade positions - you judge them on what you ended up with.

Carlton got an underweight ruckman with a questionable attitude, who it turns out has stress fractures ......good luck with that Robbie as you need to add 10-15 kg to that frame and try and get your fitness up to a position to assume the number 1 ruckman (no pressure at Freo behind Sandi).

Warnock has already fallen at the first hurdle and to be honest he enver even got to the line in 2009.

Plus roll out the we would of taken player X anyway ...last time I heard that was when Freo said they didn't mind trading away picks as they were going to take Clayton Collard with their earleir pick anyway.

I didn't believe it then and I dont believe it now but yeah hey sure you were taking Robinson at 24. Perhaps you should not of traded at all and taken Zac Clarke ....at WAFL level he has already surpassed Warnock's effort.

Perhaps you guys can trade for Peake or Taz and bend us over again? Please?

I was just about to make a post asking people if they think the policy will change when Pav hits 27 but i reckon you have answered it for me.

The club has already stated that players such as Sandilands and Pavlich are exempt from the policy. There is a 'star' clause.

It's not exactly the sort of policy that would stay in place forever anyway. Looking at our list there are maybe 5 players this policy might effect in the next 3 years; after that the next guy to turn 27 will be Greg Broughton.

 ...all well and good. Suban will be a very good player, and good luck to him.

What I was referring to was how Fremantle's list management staff would have been come the deadline of trade week last year, not currently or with the benefit of hindsight, now that Suban's been a good contributor and Warnock hasn't got on the park.

Freo wanted X, and stated specificially to that extent early on in trade week, and ended up with Y, either through Carlton stuffing them around all week with tactics that would have made Chris Pelchen proud, or lack of demand. Most clubs would have said "stuff you" to Warnock and left him to try his luck in the PSD.

That's what I was referring to. Nothing to do with any silly Mayne >< Warnock arguments.
