Doesn't Hinch promote himself as the Human Headline? I don't think he has fooled people into voting for him. As a minor party candidate you need some media time to gather enough votes. He got lucky by drawing column one on the Victorian senate ballot paper. But he won't be the worst senator in parliament. If you seen him being interviewed he speaks intelligently on a range of subjects.

I have more of a problem with senators, like Pauline Hanson, who are dumb as dogshit. The Australian parliament should be a place for smart people.

She's a beneficiary of the dissatisfaction with the two major parties. As Palmer was; Hinch is; Lambie is ........

The thing that has been missed is that the ALP were the recipients of only half the massive swing away from the reactionaries.

Oh, I've heard him speak. I've even had the chance to observe him in person on a few occasions.

I also know that the thing he is most proud of is an action which resulted in significant harm to a number of victims of sexual offences, and achieved nothing but his own self-promotion.

He promotes himself as a martyr for justice, but he serves his own interests.

If he is intelligent, he has a strange way of showing it, and it is certainly not an intelligence accompanied by insight, reason or sense.

I guess we'll find out or she might just want to go over some old ground. Instead of letting them all get off with some glib, fluff statements because they're all shitting themselves, she might actually push them to where they don't want to go.

I lived in Ripponlea and Elsernwick for much of my 20's early 30's.
I'm pretty sure I've consumed my fair share of Kosher products.
My issue is with the constant pandering to religious rights when they are the minority,or fast becoming thus.
Why should my food be tainted by religious buffoonery to ease the fears of a few when I don't agree with it?.
I find their self piteous behaviour childish,much like their beliefs.
I don't really like hotdogs or sausages much anymore,I have high cholesterol to keep a close eye on.
So my issue is just as childish as theirs I spose.

I think his work for the victims of sexual crime should be applauded,but y'know,each to their own and all that.

Had to laugh at Hanson pointing at her votes to demonstrate to the major parties that they are missing the issues people want to talk about. She got a couple per cent in Queensland and less everywhere else. Her results point to the fact that she represents a lunatic fringe.

funnily enough it's happened...take a walk down Swanston St, take a walk down Bourke St Mall, or the Crown Casino...I live in Brunswick and for years you'd never see Asians in the area, now, they're everywhere. The 50 story apartment buildings in the city, take a look at the financial backers and the adverts, mostly Chinese. They park their "dirty money" in these apartment buildings for security in case the CCP comes knocking in the middle of the night. Their footpath manners suck to high hell.

my Korean colleague remarked to me a few weeks ago that the "city is full of Chinese" and he is not wrong.

that said I could never vote for her because she is divisive.

and who's running her campaign? James Ashby.

look, imho I think that what she says has some merit but the two majors won't say it because they risk alienating their constituents. LNP has a big Chinese backing and gets plenty of donations from wealthy Chinese, as does the ALP.

like I said in the other thread my main issue is the flow of corrupt money being parked here.

if a 22 y/o Chinese is driving a $1 million RR then where is the money coming from? and why aren't AUSTRAC checking? You know they exist because they're too stupid to tone down the extravagance.
