Great news will be interesting to see how he's used up forward, will always still get the best defender the key is others taking the work load.

It probably wouldn't do the old fella any harm to hand over captaincy to Fyfe even if he is playing on in 2016.
I hope he does, but it's up to the players to vote. If he wants it, it's his but I hope he steps aside for his sake. I think he will enjoy the season a lot more if he doesn't have the burden of captaincy.

He need to step aside , need some new energy.

Given that this isn't another piece of media BS..
I'll leave it to Pav and the players who's skipper.
May relish it rather than find it a burden.
Players certainly all respect him and may play for him.
Don't really have a view one way or the other.

It's official! You beauty!

“While I can still play, I will choose to play,” Pavlich said.

“It’s a decision I took very seriously.

“Retiring and playing on were toing and froing in my mind.

“It didn’t necessarily come to me straight away.

“I had thorough discussions with Ross Lyon and Chris Bond and they were so supportive and gave me the time and space I needed.

“I needed to ensure the decision being made was the right one and it suited the football club, myself and my family.

“I had some really good conversations with my wife, Lauren, and, more recently, with my dad.

Pavlich thanked the club for allowing him several weeks following the end of the season to decide.

“To get the time away, get away from football, get away from Perth and really understand what I value and what I want to achieve in this last season was critical,” he said.

“I sincerely thank them.”

Pavlich said he weighed up whether he could physically and mentally play another gruelling season.

“Did I have the passion and desire to keep giving it my all? You can’t be half in in these circumstances,” he said.

“It was more about making the decision about whether or not I could go to the well again and how much water was in that well.

“There was a physical element to it and whether the body could keep going, but, clearly, mentally I needed to make the commitment in my own mind to go to the level I need to play this game.”

“The ultimate aim of winning a premiership is the main drive and desire but so is being involved in an elite environment and helping young players, whether young forward or leaders,” he said.

“The young and up and coming team is very exciting and I still want to be part of that.

“I’ve never taken playing football for granted, it’s an honour and a privilege to pull on the Fremantle jumper every week.”

Pavlich said the result of the trade period had no bearing on his decision to play on.

I'm pretty happy with that - I for one hoped he would go one more year. Time will tell if it's the right call, but I reckon it is from this side of the fence.

Needs to be managed properly though. If he's managed well, I can't see why he couldn't finish the year in full flight (or close to it). Hopefully the club have the courage and fwd thinking to leave him out even when it would seem we really need him.

Play all the home games if fit rest him on the non essential trips east save him for finals. I know we attempted it with maccas this year unsuccessfully but I recon Thats the best bet to get the most out out of him.

A friend, cousins acquaintance who lives south of the river in the greater Fremantle area said his brother knows a trolley dolly at Virgin Airlines and she said and I quote " Pav playing on is nothing short of selfish. He only needs 9 more return flights to the east coast to be the first person world wide to reach Kryptonite Status in their frequent flyer program. This will move him up to 51% shareholder of the airline and give him voting rights. His first order of business is to change the name to Pav Airways and the lounge will be renamed Fyfedom".
