I suspect Pav won't do a lot of traveling to places like Darwin, Gold Coast or Homebush. Outside of that he'd have to be managed, but if he's going to play on it will have to be with the intent of playing (fitness not withstanding) at least 16 games.
Expect Apeness to get a game in Darwin again, seems like it's the Pav resting zone

16 games including 3 or 4 finals sounds about right.

For Pav to be effective next year he needs support.
Ross has been criticised for his defensive game plan - I think you will see a different forward structure next season centred around N Fyfe at CHF.
After watching most live games this year, I believe this would be a really positive move.
Pav full forward/forward pocket rotating with Taberner, Walters and Ballantyne small crumbing forwards and Mayne leading and marking(has to lift).
The ruckmen can slide forward but not resting - they rest off the ground.
Down the track AP will probably be a switch player but I would prefer to see him take a leading role in defence and allow him to establish himself. He is going to be a gun.
Bennell and Mundy are highly talented midfielders who give great flexibility and Neale is an emerging talent.
In a nutshell, I think it is important Taberner is given game time - and most crucially, Fyfey plays CHF.

What the chance of crozier playing mayne role , and occasion swap with d.Pearce when he move forward, would like to see younger player able to developed flexibility moving to different position.

With the reduced interchange cap I can't see rucks being rested on the bench, they will need to stay down in the forward line.

Hawthorn play with two tallish forwards Gunston and Roughead. They continually move and lead - rarely do these two take contested marks from long kicks - in fact Roughead almost always knocks the ball down in front of him and Rioli, Breust and Puopolo know where it is going. Hale and BB kick the odd goal from contested marks but don't play a huge part in the forward structure.
I personally don't like the resting ruckmen in the forward line.

Lauren [kids screaming in the background]: So Matthew are you going to retire or play in 2016?
Matthew: Think I've still got the hunger to run around another year.
**** me dead, if there's anything that could get me running laps all day for three months it's when the kids are being f*E#(& @(W*$#%(*@$#(%$(@*&$#@(

We do much the same thing, but unfortunately Pavlich being largely on his own makes it less effective. I keep saying Ballantyne's absence was telling in the latter part of last season. We really need to get behind Taberner more as well, he cops too much crap for a 30-gamer and I friggin' hate it.

I'm really, really happy Pavlich has gone on for one more year. We're not done yet, and if we're good enough it just might turn out to be one of the best decisions he ever made... other than staying with us for so long in some trying times in the early days.

If the Pav struggles, I hope the flogs don't boo him.

What a disgrace when he was booed this year, whilst spuds like Mayne have caused him to take on so much burden.

Anyone who boo's a Croat is signing their death sentence, .............. not a smart thing to do !!!!.

:( Its seriously embarassing seeing some freo supporters comments on not wanting pav to play on..... ARE U SERIOUS? The guy is our greatest ever player the one guy who stayed with us when we were the laughing stock of the AFL and lets face it we were for most of his career. It upsets me that some are not happy the greatest ever freo player who could have left us for alot more money and would probably have a premiership medal and cup to his name if he had have left us by now. If pav wants to play on another year we should be celebrating it not saying some things some people are saying on here.

Besides pav can see that its not all doom and gloom like some on here are stating! We arent done yet guys! Goodluck to pav and ill cry more for him if we win it next year than for myself or the club i love so much. He desereves a premiership and we have one more year to give it to him. Lets hope we do he is our greatest ever player.

I've never been sure whether the players or the supporters are the more deserving of a premiership win. If it's the players will say Pav be more deserving than the winner of the Doig?

What a pile of horse shit.

If he can contribute, fine. If not, he's just another de-listing. We're not running a retirement home.

Where does Fyfeyfan95 suggest a thing about running a retirement home? ****ing windmills, DonQ.

Pavlich is our greatest ever player. That's true. Over that time he has shown far more than the likes of you that he is committed to the club.
He has taken his time to think about what he is able to contribute next year. And he has made the decision that he can. He has shown that his decisions can be trusted. There is no suggestion of contributing less, or taking the place of a younger player.

When he leaves next year, it will not be just another de-listing. Pretty stupid comment Reg.

Tough love, Clem.

Don't give me this shit about commitment to the club though. He's an employee, and a well paid one. Nothing more, nothing less. You could call him our greatest ever player, but only until the next one comes along.

Sports club or business? You can't have a little bit of both.

Sad!
But true.

Of course you can.
It's both a profession and a sport. That's why they call them professional sportsmen. It's because Footy is such a great sport, and because we love talking footy, that we spend time on this board. There's no money in that (unless you're Chief).

If there was no place for sentiment, people would change teams as they go up and down the ladder. Pav showed he is more than just a high paid employee because he made the choice to stay when he had better offers. "He is an employee...nothing more or less" Do you even watch football? Or have you reached the tipping point?

Pav is our greatest ever player, and until Fyfe wins a few premierships and gets over 200 games he will remain so. Of all our players he deserves our sentiment. You are a few trees short of an orchard if you can't see that.
