How about you look at the website and a few others before you make this ignorant, ill-informed statement. Type peak oil into google and look!
In 1971 America reached peak oil and soon ran out of oil. Since then it has acquired it from overseas sources. We are currently at peak oil and will be there for the next couple of years. Peak oil means that the rate of extraction of oil around the world is at the fastest rate it's ever going to get. Soon, very soon we are going to have demand outstrip supply as the major oil fields of the Middle East continue to diminish. The oil fields of Venezuela, Gulf of Mexico, Nigeria and the African coast are all at peak oil.

This is a non-renewable resource that takes hundreds of millions of years to create and will never be available again once we have used it up, and it will be used up in less than 200 years. How can a non-renewable resource be never ending? Is this a joke? Are you trolling for responses with this kind of diatribe?

Oil is needed to make over 500,000 things including tyres, bitumen, fertilizers and medicines and it will soon be gone. Why do you think China is rapidly expanding? They are doing it now because it will be a lot harder to source just about everything in 10-20 years time.

If you think all these FACTS are wrong then please try to understand that because we are all addicted to this stuff it is going to be very unpleasant for some people in the not-to-distant future when we all will need to begin weening ourselves off of this stuff. How ridiculous will motor racing be seen then? Are we heading a future when future generations (40 yrs from now) will vilify us and our recent predecessors as being the most irresponsible generations in history because we so carelessly squandered this precious resource that is only with us for such a short time.

If you think I am wrong then I hope you are right. I hope we find more oil and that it lasts for hundreds of years. But to flippantly say this misleading and totally inaccurate statement is disrespectful towards our future societies that will have to do without this resource, and many of the benefits, products and conveniences that it provides.

Peak oil means when oil is being produced at its capacity, and from that point onwards it goes down. It happened in America like 30 years ago (American oil production)

Some people wonder why we dont hear much about peak oil....you only have to look at the oil companies and there profits to see why (hint, if people start inventing or investing in alternative fuels they will lose billions)
